Pschycotic Pschycos, The Imperial Shogunate of

A large nation located in the Greater Prussia region. Pschycotic Pschycos is also at the head of the obscure Earth Alliance, though only three nations have ever joined.

History

Starting out as the Rouge Nation of Pschycotic Pschycos, the nation was born after a bloody war with Derscon. The small band of rebels were led to victory under a man known only as General Kamikaze. Kamikaze led the assault at the Battle of Sibirsk, pushing back Marshal Kazmarov's armies to the city of Nizhny Novogrod. After the loss, the current Czar of Derscon was overthrown, and the Czar crowned -- Czar Maksim Nikolavich Andropov -- held talks between himself and General Kamikaze, ending the long war and granting Pschycotic Pschycos independence. General Kamikaze later went on to be the new nation's first Shogun. Since its indendence, Pschycotic Pschycos has grown rapidly, and has even reached out into space. Friendly ties have been reestablished with the Dersconi Government, and old wounds have indeed appeared to have healed. The nation was recently torn apart by a civil war of genetic engineering, but those wounds too have healed. Recently, it withdrew from Greater Prussia to reside in Imperial Armies under the leadership of Shogun Heero Yuy. However, the last shogun recently returned, and Psi-Pso was reinstated into the Greater Prussian Empire. Little known to the rest of the world, Yuy was executed for his actions in the shogun's absence. Upon returning, the Shogunate began branching out into the rest of the world, most recently establishing ties with the nation of Great Nari, who recently broke isolationism. At the same time, a culture clash happened between the old, conservative leaders and the new generation of hi-hop wannabes. This recently escalated into rebellion, but was quickly put down. Aside from this, nothing of great importance has happened within the nation, and it has been sitting in the depths of isolationism for lack of a better thing to do with its economic and military strength.

Geography

Pschycotic Pschycos is a large, squarish nation. Contained in its heart is a vast Inland Sea, bordered to the west by the Shinotara Mountains, a gigantic range with only one pass through. Its eastern shore is protected by a massive sea wall measured at a hundred feet tall. Conecting the Inland Sea to the ocean is a series of five canals that were carved out over time. Off to the southeast are a small cluster of islands that were once part of the Japanese Islands. To the northeast is a large island with several satellite islands known as Neo-Pheonixia.

Political Boundaries

Pschycotic Pschycos claims territorial waters out to 50 nautical miles from its shoreline. These boundaries are enforced with a permermant minefield. Gaps to the east, north, and south permit commerical traffic, though with an Imperial air guard in the form of 2 Seahawk helicopters armed with 20mm gatling guns. Permermant patrols of the Coast Guard remain to monitor traffic. ABSOLUTELY NO MILITARY TRAFFIC IS ALLOWED WITHOUT EXPLICIT PERMISSION FROM THE SHOGUN. (It is also illegal to bring large arms of any sort inside the boundaries.)

The Imperial Shogunate

Provinces:

Kanasagwa Forest

The entire western section beyond the Shinotara Mountain Range. This section is heavily wooded, and comprised of small villages that have maintained their look fom Ancient Japan. Dojos, shrines, and blacksmith forges are a common sight. Architecture follows the same Ancient Japanese theme. Villages have maintained the close to home feeling, and neighbors are extremely friendly to each other and to travelers. Hunting is an extremely popular pasttime, and the mountains are close by for skiing and snowboarding in the winter. It also boasts many serene and quite lakes that are perfect for fishing. People flock from all corners of the country for the fall colors. The climate allows for some rice growing.

Shinotara Mountains

This section is a verticle strip of land comprising of the lands stretched from between the Inland Sea and the Kanasagwa Forest. This province holds the Shinotara Mountain range, which consists of high peaks stretched in a line. A single pass connects Kanasagwa Forest to the rest of the country, though this can sometimes become blocked in the winter. Despite its seemingly hostile appearence, three major cities are located in the province, and almost all major ski resorts are here too.

Inland Sea

Though there are no active residents of this area, it is still considered a province as it takes up the entire middle of the country. It experiences its own tides, and has spawned one or two hurricanes in its history. The only land is an island located at the exact middle of the country. This island is forbidden except to those with the shogun's permission. It holds the tombs of the royal family, and is guarded by the White Guard, an elite branch who's member's service length extends past expiration of the body.

Lowchina Desert

This is the extreme south of the nation, below the Inland Sea. Though it has a mild climate at the shore, it becomes increasingly drier and hotter toward the border, where it becomes like the Sahara. Due to this, there are no major cities, though it does have a few retirement and gambling communities.

Honchia

The extreme north of the country. It stays mild in climate for quite a while, but becomes tundra toward the far border. The mild climate makes for nice corn and wheat farming, making agriculture its largest industry.

Honimishu

The capitol and largest city of the nation. This will be covered in detail later.

Eastland

The far east section. It experiences a marine climate due to the ocean nearby. It has forests and grasslands, which make for good farming and grazing. This is a general area.

Ancient Japanese Archipepalago

Location of Neo-Nagasaki, the naval headquarters. This one city takes up half of the main island. The other half is occupied by a volcano. The rest of the islands are occupied by small fishing villages. All the islands experience a semi-tropical climate.

Neo-Pheonixia

A small set of northern islands, with a large central one. These rely on fishing, and they have a mild climate. The main island even has a small mountain range that can support a ski resort for 3-4 months.

Cities:

Honimishu

The capitol. This city stretches 300 miles north to south along the eastern coast of the Inland Sea. Honimishu Castle, the capitol building, is located toward the northern end in the center of a rather large bay. Midtown is occupied by hundreds of towers that are all over 100 stories tall. The rest of the city lowers as it spreads north and south, and takes on a more futuristic look (think Coresaunt of Star Wars). Rather than using a subway, V-22 Ossperys are used, using rooftops as terminals. This system has proved effective. This is the only city that has it's own defenses against ground assault in the form of dual-turret 30" cannons, in addition to AA and SAM emplacments. The city is heavily walled, with only 6 roads in or out. These entrances include a bridge over an extensive ravine. Each of the four corners has a pillar upon which a massive stone eagle is placed, wings outstreched.

A section of Midtown, across from the castle, is set aside as the national cemetery. This area has a slight rise, so all the gravestones, arranged in orderly rows, face the castle. There are many monuments and tributes to the soldiers and wars.

Neo-Nagasaki

ICN Headquarters. The port occupies half the city. It has extensive naval defenses, but is a standard city.

Magma City

This is like ancient Italian cities in that it has canals running through it. But unlike ordinary canals, these channal magma through it. TO the north are several shield volcanos. These create a constant river of lava that splits to three rivers through the city. At night, a red glow prevails near the canals, and the reflections on the wall look like that of water, only red and orange. Naturally, it's the country's foremost city when it comes to Halloween.

Metro-City

This is a standard port city on the side of a mountain. Many bays and inlets probe into the city from the Inland Sea. The most noticible feature is the ski run from the most reknowned resort that runs through it, giving many work places and apartments "ski in, ski out" real estate, jacking up the land values. There have been a few "skier-car" incidents, but only 20 or so deaths, owing to the fact that very little of the course interacts with the road.

Midnight City

A northern city that has another ski run through it. This is smaller, only having a few towers, but has a pleasant green-blue glow in the midnight moon, due to the snow of the surrounding mountains.

Culture

Pschycotic Pschycos shares a culture almost identical to that of the Ancient Japanese. Kimonos are a common sight, and the capitol building, Honimishu Castle, was built with the same style of architecture. Swords, Katana and Wakizashi, are common sights on the street, and the children of samurai (soldiers) are even permitted to carry them to school, though strict rules maintain order. The nation's youth enjoy punk rock, skateboarding, snowboarding, and popular team sports like football. The entire population is extremely patriotic. A large part of the population, especially among the younger generation, have a craving for extreme thrills, leading the extreme sport industry to bring in huge profits. Another large part of the population, overlapping with the extreme sports portion, has become addicted to computer and internet games such as www.Nationstates.co.psipso

The recent craze in sports seems to center around the new IGPX (Immortal Grande Prix), a wildly intense combination between racing and mortal combat, which takes place on a 60 mile long track at speeds reaching 360 mph. Currently, the nation has eight unique teams and one track, which twists and even loops through a large, isolated portion of land just outside Honimishu city limits.

The majority of the population is Protestant Christian, with a small percentage of Catholic Christian, Judaism, and a very, very small percent being Muslim. Despite being rather homogenous, strict laws prevent discrimination based on religion, and the populace is encouraged to display and practice their religion openly and freely. (Note: In recognition of the overwhelming majority, the government officially displays Christian symbols during Christian holidays. However, they also encourage minority individuals to display their own religious symbols as they choose at their holidays, and respect both ways is expected.)

Most people in the nation are Asian/Japanese in heritage. However, very limited immigration from other Greater Prussian nations has created minimal diversity. In an attempt to head off any problems, the government passed anti-discrimination legislation to protect legal immigrants. This protection does not extend to illegal immigrants, who are immediately executed upon being discovered by authorities.

The official languages of Pschycotic Pschycos are Japanese and English. English is required due to the close relation with Greater Prussian nations and the need of a common language to communicate. Japanese is usually the only language spoken within the country, however. Several groups within the nation of close dealings with Derscon, leading a small percentage of Pschycotians to be fluent in Dersconi. Despite official recognition of two languages, all signs are printed in Japanese only.

Military

The Shogunate has a standard military comprising of 4 branches, with the navy and the space navy receiving the most funding. (Note: Military runs law enforcment, and so these two budgets are mixed together.) Each of the ten "armies", consisting of one million fighting men each, resides in a province as law and order. The exception is Honimishu, which requires three due to it's urban size (96%).

Upon acceptance into the military, each fighter recites an oath of loyalty to the shogun. He, in turn, recites an oath to the nation to follow its values. Upon recitation of the oath, the soldier is given the rank of samurai. In this way, each soldier vows to protect the nations values. If, at anytime, the shogun ceases to uphold the values of Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Happiness Without Interfering with the Government, a soldier can kill the shogun and retain his honor. IT MUST BE UNQUESTIONABLE THAT THE SHOGUN HAS NOT FOLLOWED THE VALUES LAID DOWN BY GENERAL KAMIKAZE. An investigation shall follow any time this happens to ensure that it was required.

Army

The army is comprised of 10 million men and women that do the actual fighting. It is subdivided by powers of ten down to ten men squads. Officers and leaders are not included in this number. Support and logistics, along with armor and armored cavalery are calculated differently.

Armored- 5000 M1A3 tanks, along with a general assortment of APCs. One million M1A1 tanks were donated by Derscon, but they are largely outdated, and their use relies on numbers.

Artillery- 1000 units each of double barreled artillery and 16-shot rocket launchers.

Armored Cavalery- 3000 AH-64D Longbow Apache fast attack helicopters and 2000 SAH-4A Special Attack Helicopters (equipped with side-mounted, double barreled 20mm cannons that can be retracted inside the main hold for storage and quick flight).

Logistics- Standard assortment of APCs, supply transportation, and other human transportation systems.

Homeland army bases find protection in double-barreled 45" cannons.

Air Force

A small air force consists of 15,000 F-14G model fighters equipped for land-use, utilizing upgraded PHOENIX ATA missiles, dubbed "Firebird". The F-14G model features a heavily improved and reinforced airframe, along with new engines and targetting systems. Engines have a 95% stall-proof rating, including in a verticle climb. Engines are also able to increase speed to Mach 3.12. 1500 modified "EB-52"* stealth bombers comprise the rest of the force.

  • The EB-52 is specially built with "metamaterials". These give the hull special light bending properties. Actual specifications of what occurs with this is give only on a need-to-know, involved in an RP basis as they are revolutionary and not widely known, and release of this information willy-nilly would destroy my strategy. However, I assure you that they are actually indeed PMT.

Navy

The Navy receives the most funding of any branch, and is the only one that uses funding for development above and beyond maintence, like the others. The only naval base is the heavily defended ICN Headquarters, located at Neo-Nagasaki on the Ancient Japanese Archeipalago. Ships are as follows:

Ships of the Line

Zimmermann Dreadnaught: 3 in-line aft and forward triple turrets of 30" rifled railguns, standard superstructure, 10" and 5" secondary guns, cruise missile and torpedo capability.

Arkhangle Battlecarrier/Dreadnaught: Zimmermann frame fused with two carrier decks (port and starboard). Capable of holding 200 F-14Z fighters, or up to 300 in extreme situations.

Pices Battlesub: Submergeable Zimmermann frame with additional forward and aft torpedoes. Lacks cruise missile capability, compensated with verticle facing torpedo tubes*.

  • These verticle torpedoes are specially designed with dual directional charges set to blast up and out, as well as back down and out, maximizing damage.

Island Dreadnaught/SDN: Central carrier deck with a Zimmermann frame fused to each side. Additional carrier deck on extreme port and starboard sides. Capable of holding 300 F-14Z fighters, or 400 in extreme situations.

Aegis CIWS Defense Cruiser: Tri-marine ship with single 10 inch cannon, yet multiple 75mm CIWS batteries. Aegis Cruisers are fully automated and manned only by a small support staff. These ships are meant for use as shields and are expendable.

Valor Battlecruiser*: A smaller version of the Zimmermann, built by reducing the length and weaponry. The Valor is much shorter, boasts only 2 in-line turrets forward and aft; these turrets are only dual-barrel 25" standard ballistic shells. The ships feature all of the same secondary arms as the Zimmermann. These vessels are second line defense ships after the Aegis Cruisers, and are meant for close quarters fighting when the railguns of the main capitol ships can no longer be used.

  • Various rumors allude to the existence of a modified Valor Class designated the "Wako State". (Wako in obvious refrence to the Japanese word for "priate") These rumors can neither be acknowleged nor dismissed as their is no military intelligence on this issue.

Honor Superdreadnaught: 4 in-line triple-turrets of 30" railguns forward and aft. Forward and aft facing 30" railguns to port and starboard of main line (totals 4 turrets not in-line). Single triple turret of 20" atop superstructure.

Samurai Hyperdreadnaught: Heavily classified information. Borrows design information of the Honor-Class, and improves. Heavily armed and defended.

Lionfish Fast Attack Sub: A nuclear fast attack sub that borrows it's design from ancient WWII blueprints, though modified. It is armed with ten forward and six aft torpedo tubes, two single-barrel 16" cannon facing forward and aft, 2 40mm AA cannons facing port and starboard, and 4 20mm AA cannons facing port and starboard. AA cannons are located on the conning tower.

Boomers: Self-explanitory.

(AUTHOR'S NOTE: The naval section here receives the most attention due to the fact that the author has had the great privilage to custom design all vessels and weaponry used by this section, brought about by many foolish teachers issuing computer assignments. Other sections do not receive this same attention because they use more recognized and standard elements, that most people will recognize. Custom elements elsewhere have received short right-ups to clarify.)

The White Guard

The White Guard is the elite of the elite. The most well trained fighting force of the world, they guard the fortress Honimishu Castle as the shogun's personal guards. Their armor is pure white, even the actual metal that comprises it and their weapons. Only the VERY BEST are taken from the military. Some can die through the training process. Only enough to maintain the exact balance of seven-hundred-seventy-seven men are accepted. Once inducted into the White Guard, a samurai is in for life. Their outside life is given up, and they live on the premisis of the Castle at all times, never leaving unless to protect the shogun. Discipline inside the Guard is extreme. However, one's family is bestowed with honor of the highest degree for eternity, and having a son or father in the White Guard can garuntee almost any position for life.

The ties to the Guard are binding. Even in death, the soul is bound to the royal family. These souls guard the final sacred place of the nation, the Tomb of the Royal Family. It resides on an island in the middle of the inland sea, and none are allowed to set foot on it but those with permission of the shogun. These spectral guards will slay all who violate the sacred ground.

To those with the courage to give their eternity to the Royal Family, the glory and honor last forever.

FT Forces

RDF--makes use of Veritech Fighter 3-in-1. Fighter, battaloid (like mobile suit, but weaker), and half-half. Uses energy rifle (not OMG LAZOR!1!!) and replenishing energy missiles. Used on Carriers in FT combat, as well as in FT army, and space forces.

No specific space forces yet.

CURRENTLY UNDER SIGNIFICANT CONSTRUCTION. MAJOR UPDATE COMING SOON HERE!

Wars

Conflict with Derscon

A second war with Derscon over a misinterpreted mixup. The war was brutal, almost turning nuclear. Peace was reached before this occured, though at the toll of the founder and hero, Shogun Kamikaze.

War with Kaymiril

Its second war boiled down to more of a naval squirmish as the military, guided by foolish advisors, was lead to attack the socialist nation of Kaymiril. This war ended before any large losses were taken, though one of Kaymiril's princes was killed in the fighting.

Genetic Civil War

A bloody civil war in which genocide was commited against genetically altered citizens. Order was eventually restored to the proper government.

Antanjyl Liberation War

This war can be called the Shogunate's first medium-scale war. It was decided to assist Scandinavian States in a blockade due to slave trading operations out of Antanjyl. During a peace conference arranged by Derscon, it was revealed that the slaves, nearly 12 million of them, were slaughtered for emergency rations. Allanea and the Shogunate went directly in, capturing a port city and fighting a war of attrition. Antanjyl continuously provided reinforcments through tunnels that became the focus of offensive power. The government, however, was decapitated as their Emperor Galf was assasinated. A full scale surrender ensued, and allied forces are now aiding in the establishment of a democracy and rebuilding. Pschycotic Pschycos has been granted permission to maintain a military bsae of 60,000 troops to help with public projects in the nation and defense. Allanean forces, due to excessive warmonggering, were banned from the nation, and Psi-Pso forces put in charge of ensureing their cooperation. The situation here is over and now peaceful.

Government

The government of Pschycotic Pschycos is known as a Shogunate. It boils down to a militaristic dictatorship in which the leader, a shogun, solely leads the country, with some help from advisors, who are not necessary, and may not even exist during the reign of some shoguns. There is no congress or parliament, and as all previous shoguns have treated the general public with kindness and respect, no one has had a problem with this. The latest shogun is Nakamura Taiki. The position of shogun is hereditery within the Nakamura family, and is staunchly defended. If no heir to the throne was found, due to the elimination of the Nakamura line, it is believed that civil war would erupt from the massive power struggle that would ensue among the most powerful generals. Thus far, the Nakamura line has continued strong, and there is no reason to think otherwise at the moment.

At the local level, Daimyo are the mayors of towns of up to 500,000 people. For cities of 500,000 to 1,000,000, higher ranking Ryoshu are placed in charge. For cities over 1,000,000 people are governed by Joshu. Finally, the provinces are governed by the Kokushu, very high military officers who report directly to the Shogun. This forms a very easy-to-follow chain of command. These military officials come from the active military (Equally ranked local militia leaders fill in during times of war). Kokushu are retired military, though still listened to.
