Psion War

The Psion War was a major conflict on Eden-IV that dwarfs all contemporary conflicts on the planet. It was initiated when scientists on Eden-IV discovered a meteorite that had crashed into the planet. This meteorite contained a substance that enhanced the psychic capabilities of any being that came into contact with in, and also in a way gave psionic powers by transforming reality along the thoughts of the individual - for example, dreaming of ice cream would result in waking up in a heap of icecream. Dreaming of fire would result in, well, not waking up at all, since you would have been killed in a terrible blaze while asleep. The substance rapidly spread, turning more and more people into the source of such psionc phenomenons, resulting in complete chaos, which became known as the Dream Sphere. Some individuals, however, seemed capable of controling their powers, able to modify the surrounding world at their will. These became known as Sorcerers and Sorceresses. Some of them began to teach to the other how to control their powers, while others began to seize power. Before they could, however, Earth intervened and tried to get a hold of the substance itself. The government of Earth paid the colonies on the nearby planets Cormerra and Magera, which had been colonized earlier, for invading Eden-IV. Their troops landed in Sothfar, at that time the only nation on the planet, the nations of today being just remote settlements. The Magerans conquered the Sothfarian capital of Sabaa, but finally were driven out by the chaotic conditions of the Dream Sphere, the power of the Sorcerers, and though Edenian resistance. Upon withdrawal from the planet surface, the Magerans launched a desperate strike on Sabaa: The MaGenetic Bomb.
