Queen Frances III of Violet Strawberries

Born in 1980 in Berry upon Vine, the future Queen had a very privileged upbringing, with some of the finest education available in the entire Alliance. She was home schooled until the age of 6, at which point she attended Vineton Primary School. She quickly excelled at science and maths, something that was to stay with her throughout her school life. At the age of 11 she won a place at the prestigious all girls Grahamson-Michaels Secondary Grammar School in downtown Berry. Again, maths and science, especially Chemistry and Geology, were strong points. After pursuing her studies to an advanced level at Grahmason-Michaels, she found a place at Berry-upon-Vine University, where she read Applied Chemistry in the Modern World. She gained a distinction with honours in the subject.

After leaving university in 2001, she worked with a number of charities and international organisations, such as the Violet Strawberries International Food Fund, the Anti-Land Mines Alliance, and Outreach, a charity for homeless children. In 2002, the reigning Monarch of Violet Strawberries, the venerable King Simon II, died peacefully in his sleep. In the days following his death, calls were made for Frances' Aunt, who was the Princess Royal, to take the throne. However, this was not to be; Princess Alice was not well suited to public life, and she used constitutional powers to pass the throne directly to Frances, who then became the youngest ruler of Violet Strawberries at the age of 22.

Following her Coronation, Frances ushered in a new age of prosperity and reform in Violet Strawberries, embracing commerce to a moderate extent, and bringing in measures to safeguard healthcare and education. Notable among these measures are the Enhanced Literacy Drive, Primary and Secondary Education Regulatory Boards, increased NHS funding and centres of Clinical Excellence being set up around the country. She also co-ordinated several deals with domestic and foreign supermarket chains, securing set prices for Violet Strawberries' farmers' produce.

Queen Frances has many strong diplomatic ties, notably with Gothria and Roudland. She often takes trips to these countries and to Hannigan Island in the Grohl Ocean. Rumours have been circulating for years about exceedingly strong ties between the leader of Roudland (David J Roud) and Queen Frances. The two young leaders are often seen out and about together "discussing policy issues" when on diplomatic visits to either country or at international conferences. Is has been speculated that there is more than friendship between the two. This rumour is fuelled by stories of the two delegates not turning up to some speeches at conferences and leaving the countries they are visitng a day after the conference finishes.
