The R-12 rifle is the standard Rifle for all the armed forces of Firehelper.

Development
The R-12 rifle was developed by the Gair Arms Ltd. It was ordered in 2000 as the standard rifle after a company sponsored investment prototype. According to Gair Arms Ltd. the rifle was developed from several ideas in western nations and was also designed to surpass them. The notable rifle types that influenced design included the American M-16, German H&K G-36, American-German XM8, and the American M4 Carbine.
design
The weapon is a balanced design aimed at replacing the R-9. This rifle is modular and various parts can be replaced and comes with a rail system. The front of the barrel can be replaced with various parts.
Modular Weapon System
Image: Like the American M4 Carbine, the R-12 uses a MWS. The many attachments to the weapon are mounted on a Picatinny rail system and any attachment compatible can be mounted. The most common attachment is a telescopic or night vision sight to aid in aiming over long distances.
Basic Additions
The standard Infantryman on the front with the Firehelper armed forces usually carry a R-12 with a red dot reference 2x scope, RG-14 Grenade launcher or XMS-2 shotgun, and laser light or flash light. This system allows the forces of Firehelper to use the same weapon in many areas.
Special Forces
Many special Forces Use the standard Infantry arrangement with a 5x scope instead of the normal scope. They also use flash suppressors and silencers.
Variants
In addition to the normal assault rifle there are also several variants
R-12C
The R-12C is a compact version of the assault rifle. This variant is A small version of the R-12 with a length of 12" and is more suited for close quarters or intra-building combat. This weapon is assembled from the baseline R-12 center piece and a snort barrel and butt cap.
R-12S
The R-12 sharpshooter variant has a longer barrel and a 10x advanced scope. It is not as good as a specifically made sniper rifle but it will work with an on the spot transformation from a standard rifle in the field.
R-12LM
The light machine gun variant of the R-12 has a longer barrel that is capable of withstanding prolonged periods of fire. It uses a 100 round magazine and has a rate of fire equivalent to 1000 RPM with a 30 round box magazine.
