The Rebellion of Jaçanã was a popular riot that happened in Cafundeu in 1992. The mayor of Jaçanã, a small city in the Old Cities State, didn't like the style of the emperor Hector Van Tocco and created an army composed by the citiziens of Jaçanã and neighbour cities.

After 6 months of battle, Cafundeu's army was able to completely eliminate the opponent army. More than one million people died in this riot, at least 20% of them were civilians. Jaçanã became a ghost city, without people living in it.
