About Reclamation

Reclamation is a forum dedicated to helping NSUN members with good ideas turn them into passed resolutions. Experienced legislative authors and newcomers are equally welcome. Members help proposal authors sort out thoughts, work on the format and language of the drafts, and become aware of potential problems. There are also suggestions for managing proposals through the approval and voting process. Perhaps the founder of the forum, Waterana, said it best:

"[Reclamation is a] peaceful haven where proposal authors, especially new authors, can ready their ideas away from the lion's pit, aka the UN forum on jolt. Advice given here will be constructive, factual, helpful and positive."

Reclamation is non-ideological. People with widely varying views are on things like national sovereignty, internationalism, free trade, and protectionism are welcome. Members are required to treat each other and each other's ideas with respect. Constructive criticism is both welcome and expected; disrespectful behavior isn't.

Some History

Waterana began work on Reclamation in January 2006, and it was opened to the public the next month. The forum originally had something of an ideological flavor, but that was soon discarded in favor of a strictly non-ideological character. The 1,000-post mark was reached on April 11, 2006.

As of June 24, 2007, Reclamation had 80 registered members, although many are inactive.
