At the eastern coast, Okulus and the Elves built ships and crossed the ocean to a new continent where Melkor would not follow. Once here, the Rehmens, as they renamed themselves, began their society. Okulus would leave for long periods of time, always bringing more followers back with him. The society grew, and the grateful Avari, now hearing of the destruction in western Middle Earth lifted Okulus up as a savior. When they begged him, he agreed to remain with them and guide them, but refused to rule them as a King.
