Overview

Rejistania (also called: The rejis) is a geographical term as well as a political term. Geographically, it is the island, most rejistani nations are located on as well as the tiny island Sumumusumu. The islands hava a tropical climate, the central region of the rejistanian island consists of rainforrest and only very few human settlements, Sumumusumu is too small to suffer from such a gradient due to bad infrastructure. Politically, this term refers to the association of free nations of Rejistania (alternatively; Rejistanian association of free nations, rejistanian: asene rejistaniha tani linux), an association dedicated to harmonizing relations between the 1024 nations, which developped from the nation of Rejistania.

The Rejis is inhabitated by different peoples, tribes and ethnic groups, most important are the Majuveda, the Minokaje, the Hito, the Jis, the Isesi, the Trs, the Ehila~o, the Seleken and the Ly. The main religion in Rejistania is inikresaism, a religion which believes that the everything in the world consists of the two principles 'rise' and 'fall', which are represented by the gods Relekekansa and Jaortirkansa. Despite this simple general idea (maybe even because of its simplicity) the religion is split in several denominations. Excelitism, Da~e-Christianity and atheism are the biggest minority religions.

History

For a long time, Rejistania was governed in a democratic, but unusual way. The nation however lacked a certain unity, except for the times, when the rejistani national teams in soccer or field hockey played. The first Lentine Hangila/Hank~hila Sede (the Trsi g became k~h when the seleken alphabet was officially recognized for the sake of an easier transliteration) ruled for almost 30 years despite her old age. After her death, the position of the first lentine changed at nearly every election. The political instability was used by the temple of Karela to gain influence and eventually overthrow the government. This event was called Vinali Tikira Revolution, because the revolution took place after the third place playoff (rejistanian: vinali tikira) of World Cup 21. During the time of Karela, basic rights were curtailed and va'karela'ny used to make the people happy despite that and content with politics, which emphasize the defense. During that time, the former motto "Xkeja'tan, Lik~hat'tan, korona'tan" (tolerance, peace, prosperity) was replaced by "Divensi mi'aru hetaki veka altenany" (Defense is by far the best attack). The karelan government however was overthrown in another very rejistani coup after the "lasane" was defeated in the final of World Cup 25 (since this started with riots after the defeat against Starblaydia the revolution is called "vinali revolution"). After the vinali revolution, again a Kalesic democracy was established, however the High Priest of Karela remained ceremonial head of state.

The lacking stability and prevailing corruption of the government led to another revolutionary attempt: the disvoting scandal: on a day of municipal elections, almost everyone went to vote, but 75% of the recieved vootes were blank. The Hani numbers of most municipal governments were too low to get anything done, even if deciding unanimously. Even before the elections could be repeated, a kalesic election had more tha 80% blank votes. First Lentine Tade~n Lii reacted by delaying further elections indefinitely and using the police to find the suspected anarchistic terrorists. After he asked the former allies Allanea for help, they invaded the country because they feared a dictatorship in the tani was on the rise. The Allaneans installed a puppet government, which many cities opposed and declared their independence. Allanea only for one reason did not react with the expected overkill: They found a virus which they believed turning Rejistania into a hivemind and 'han-ed like French.

Culture

Rejistania has 15 recognized languages with different alphabets and even more different peoples. Rejistanian cultural politics therefore are based on ensuring tolerance and protecting the diversity of the nation. The high amount of processions in ceremonial costumes and other festivities reminds of RL-Bali. Inikresaistic celebrations are nearly always referring to mystic stories like the defeat of the Tahiakan and the dates often differ between each nation.

Religions in the Asene:

  • 75% Inikresaists, of those:
    • 20% Sihta
    • 12% Majita
    • 11% Hanta (Karelism)
    • 11% Hverija
    • 9% Yki~l
    • 8% Ldena
  • 10% Excelite cults
  • 8% Atheists, Agnostics, Humanists, Brights
  • 4% Da~e-Christians
  • 3% Others, Buddhists and Shintoists are prevailing here

Rejistanian musical tastes also differ between the different peoples, but some bands like N.Ixi Ni and Kurudi Ri are famous in entire Rejistania. Some people joke that rejistani music is used as method of torture in other nations.

National holidays are New year (1st of January), the Revolution Day on the 9th of July, the Day of the Independence on the 17th of September and Sede-Day (27th of December, it was put on this date not because of Hank~hila Sede's birth, but because on this date, an important inikresaist ceremony takes place and the separation of temple and state forbids religious holidays). Sports

Rejistanians are known for their dedication to soccer. The national team, the Orange-Blues are sometimes seen as the country does not dissolve in civil war.

World Cup 13 was hosted by Rejistania and Cockbill Street, but the home advantage could not help the national team. The 'young Orange-Blues', the Rejistani U21 team, won the fifth Under-21 World Cup in Total n Utter Insanity. The team still lacked a catchy nickname in the 10th installment, where they won without giving up a goal. They repeated this unbelievable achievement in U21WC11. Most national players play or played in the H1SR. The most important media for reports is the radio. While Rejistanians have dozens of radio stations in their local languages, there is even one in English for foreigners: Radio RejisCAST.
