The Civilised Penguin Land of Renaissancistic People was founded on the 14th June 2005. The owner of the nation is also known in most of the NS-related fora as R3naissanc3r, while this is also the name under which he is registered in the NSwiki (User: R3naissanc3r).
R3naissanc3r joined the then newly-founded region of The Falkland Islands, a Dominion of Great Britain and Ireland (GB&I), two days after founding Renaissancistic People, and has stayed in the region since then. Soon after he joined, he began getting involved in the GB&I forums and was granted citizenship on 26th June 2005.
After a failed candidacy in July 2005, R3naissanc3r was firstly elected in the House of Commons in the General Election of September 2005 and, since, remained a Member of Parliament until his resignation, on the 23rd February 2007.
Prior to his election in Parliament, he had served as Head of Recruitment (August-September 2005). He has also held the position of Immigration and Naturalisation Minister (September-November 2005). In the Cabinet, he served as UN Delegate (November 2005-May 2006), Home Secretary (November 2005-April 2006, May-August 2006), Minister without Portfolio (April 2006-May 2006) and Chancellor of the Exchequer (August 2006-October 2006). From November to January 2007, R3naissanc3r was the Prime Minister of GB&I.
As an MP, R3naissanc3r has actively participated in the legislative procedures, introducing numerous Bills and being a contributor to almost all debates regarding legislature affairs. As Home Secretary, he expanded the Home Office with the establishment of the Immigration Service and the Statistics Service, reorganised the Department for Constitutional Affairs, and boosted (through the Immigration Service) regional population and activity (GB&I reached its highest ever population, 242 nations, under his tenure in the Home Office). Key feature of R3naissanc3r's term as Prime Minister was the policy known as "new avenues" in the foreign affairs. During his term, several treaties were signed, including agreements with the regions Catlandatopia and the Pacific, as well as a multilateral new alliance known as the Congress of Sovereigns, while relations with many regions, mainly from the invader sphere, were commenced. Several other reforms were introduced in other aspects of the governmental structure. However, promised reforms regarding the military and the Cabinet organisation were never implemented, because of an accident the owner of the nation had in RL. R3naissanc3r has also contributed to numerous other aspects of regional life. He has acted as the region's representative abroad in various situations, while he is currently the Ambassador in many of GB&I's permanent diplomatic missions.
After his resignation from the Cabinet, he was appointed as the Commissioner of Constitutional Affairs, while later he assumed the position of the Attorney General, which replaced the Commissioner of Constitutional Affairs, and which he holds until now.
On the 23rd March 2007, R3naissanc3r was raised to the nobility of GB&I as the Duke of Cornwall and consequently became a peer in the House of Lords. As a Commoner, he had been made a Member of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire (on the 24th October 2005), a Knight Commander of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire (on the 15th March 2006) and a Knight of the Most Noble Order of the Garter (on the 23rd March 2007).
R3naissanc3r has also been, since July 2005, a member of the GB&I Armed Forces, where he holds the rank of Sergeant (June 2006).
In January 2006, he was elected as the Chancellor of the University of GB&I.
R3naissanc3r is, through GB&I, a member of the Alliance of Capitalists, Conservatives, and Economic Libertarians (ACCEL) and the current President of the House of Justice of the Alliance. In the past, R3naissanc3r served as a Junior Judge, President of the House of Justice and the Iron Judge, in a period spanning from September 2006 to January 2007.

R3naissanc3r's name is usually abbreviated to R3n or R3.
Due to the usage of the Linux penguin as his avatar, R3naissanc3r in his in-game persona has always been affiliated with penguins and/or been described as one such bird. He is the only penguin in the Realm authorised by the Monarch to carry the title "Royal".
R3naissanc3r's puppets include British Renaissance, his nation in GB&I, and HMS Unicorn, his "official" nation for military operations.
