The Exalted Star Supremacy of Revenia is a large extra-solar polity located in the 'Rim Cluster.' This cluster of six stars houses 'The Outer Rim Alliance,' which is something of a misnomer, as the Cluster is located towards the galactic center, but that is neither here nor there. Revenia is the successor state of the Ascended Supremacy, the almost unbelievably powerful nation of the Ascended people, dead for over 500,000 years.

Government of the Star Supremacy

The Star Supremacy maintains a style of government highly influenced by the Ascended Supremacy. This consists of a series of three councils: at the base, the Council, then the Executive Council, and finally the High Council.

The Council: the Council is effectively a combined legislative/electoral branch. At any one time, half of the seats on the council will be filled with hereditary nobles, while the other half will be filled with elected officials. The Council elects the High Chancellor. It has the power to pass laws, but does not possess the power of the Purse. Further, any law passed by the Council may be vetoed by the High Council. The Council may choose to replace the current High Chancellor at any time.

The Executive Council: the Executive Council serves as the High Chancellor's cabinet. It consists of the various heads of the governmental departments and the Lord-in-Shadows, head of the Intelligence Directorate. The Executive Council is purely an advisory council.

The High Council: the High Council is the combined legislative/executive branch of the Supremacy. There are a total of three seats on the High Council: The High King, the Warprince, and the High Chancellor. The High Council possesses the power of the Purse, the ability to pass laws, and the power of veto over any action taken by the Council, save for the replacement of the High Chancellor by another councilman.

The High King: Hereditary Monarch of Revenia, coincides conveniently with the position of Patriarch of House Stark. The High King is also one of the two keepers of the High Justice. The current High King is Lord Adrian Stark. Note: 'Lord' is drawn form Adrian's position as Patriarch of House Stark and has no political bearing (House Stark does not have a Grand Council seat.)

The Warprince: A position carried over from the Ascended Supremacy, the Warprince is the absolute commander of the Star Supremacy's military. The Warprince's seat is Citadel Celestian, a great castle of treated basalt. Celestian was built by the Ascended to house the computers and machinery that would allow the Warprince and his general staff to coordinate fleet and ground actions taken by any and all Ascended military units. This system, referred to as 'T/SCS' for Tactical/Strategic Control System, works just as well for the Revenian military. The Warprince chooses his successor before he abdicates. If no successor has been chosen, then the High King will choose the next Warprince. The Warprince is the second keeper of the High Justice. The current Warprince is Sir Dysaryn Stark, Prince Celestian, Heir-Apparent to the Iron Throne.

The High Chancellor: Elected Executive of the Supremacy, the High Chancellor is roughly equivalent to the position of 'Prime Minister' in a constitutional monarchy. The High Chancellor lacks any personal powers, but he has a vote on matters brought before the High Council. He is also the head of the Diplomatic Service. The current High Chancellor is Sero Relaren, Duke Highcourt.

Geography of the Star Supremacy

The Star Supremacy has population on six planets in the six systems of the ORA. These planets are:

Northfell, Northfell system: Capital world of the Star Supremacy, originally capital of Great House Stark, one of the three remnant ruling houses of the Ascended Supremacy. Northfell is a large planet with a strange climate system and a gravitic field twice the strength of Earth's.

Nexus, Nexus system: A beautiful oceanic world scattered with beautiful tropical archipellagos, Nexus is by far the most hospitable planet in Revenia. It is the capital world of the ORA and the gateway planet to the rest of the Star Supremacy and ORA: all travel into the Supremacy comes through Nexus. There is no other way, due of the effects of the numerous warp points within the system. The only non-two gee Revenian planet, Nexus' gravitic field is equivalent to that of Earth (one gee.)

Armel, Armel system: A calm world of rolling plains and breathtaking mountains, Armel is the agricultural and industrial capital of Revenia. It is home to such renowned corporations as AMT (Armel Military Technologies) and AHI (Armel Heavy Industries.) Armel is also the most heavily populated world in the Supremacy.

Horatria, Horatria system: A backwater world of little population, Horatria serves no vital purpose to the Supremacy. It seems to spawn lots of radicals and individuals who wish to 'rid the universe of the fascist Ascended and bring the Supremacy under the enlightened rule of Horatria.'

Morgathi, Morgathi system: Morgathi is a mountainous planet where most of the population is housed in cities cut into the sides of the massive mountains. Primary transportation is through the use of gliders and 'gravbelts,' personal grav-slope systems. Most of the Supremacy's strike fighter pilots come from Morgathi.

Vryss, Vryss sytem: Vryss is a hellhole. The planet itself is nice enough, two-gee gravity, enough arable land to feed the population, good natural resources...but the planet would have been populated had it been an atmosphereless rock, because Vryss is the only planet in the system...which is otherwise about the biggest asteroid belt you could ever ask for. The Vryss belts are filthy rich in all sorts of rare minerals, many of which are used by the Revenian Military.

Revenian Military

The Armed Forces, Exalted Star Supremacy of Revenia (AFESSR) consists of three branches, each answering to the central authority represented by the Warprince. The three branches are:

Revenian Star Navy: The RSN maintains two over-all commands: Fleet and Fleet Marines. The Fleet Marines are Revenia's 'projective' infantry force, while the Fleet controls all of Revenia's space assets. The Fleet is further divided into three commands: Mobile Command, which controls the eight 'Great Fleets'; Static Command, which controls the scattered picket units and system defenses; and the RSN Dynamic Response Command, which controls the jumpship squadrons and roving lines.

Revenian Army: RevArm has two branches: Armor Command and Planetary Defense Command. Armor Command, generally referred to as 'Strike,' with individuals being 'Strikers,' controls the varied Revenian armored formations, and supports the Fleet Marines in projective operations. The Planetary Defense Command, generally referred to as 'The Ward,' with individuals being 'Wardens,' controls the planetary garrisons and militias, which are purely defensive formations.

Special Command: Usually called 'The Warprince's Own,' this blanket command is directly commanded by the Warprince and covers the elite Seraphim Regiments (Shock Infantry,) the Angel Regiments (Drop Commandoes,) the Knight Regiments (specialist and Cadre units,) and other elite units. Most information on the Special Command is accessible only from T/SCS or Directorate computers.

International Relations

The Star Supremacy is the dominant ORA nation, and is considered to be the ORA's 'face to the world.' Revenia is one of the three nations, along with the Federation of Sentient Peoples and the Kingdom of Britmattia, of the Griffin/Royesse/Caer Malant Axis.

Revenia also maintains an Alliance with the Federation of Sentient Peoples, formed prior to the GRCM Axis.

The Supremacy's foreign policy works on a system of 'trust and respect.' These are both things that must be earned in order for the Supremacy to even consider a nation for ally status. Trust and Respect have nothing to do with military might -- Revenia is a civilization that values the individual, 'trust and respect' must be gained by the leaders of a nation in question -- something that thus-far has only been accomplished by D'ron Smith of the Federation of Sentient Peoples.
