Geography
The Democractic Republic of Revionia (DRR)is located in The Sunbelt region on the continent of Sabiduria on the north-western wing south of New Preussen and directly north of Yannia. Revionia has access to two un-named bodies of water that is located next to important trade routes.
The mainland consists of plains dotted with many forests with lush farmland. The mainland is also extremely rural and sparsely populated with exceptions to four major coastal cities of Tolobrosk, Nevograd, Kalamaysk, and Grondobrosk. Inland lies a mainly flat, hilly countryside with many important mineral mines.
Off Revionia's shore-line lies six islands; Myaski, Krondo, Borski, Yula, Omsk, and Dervaimo. Krondo, Omsk, Dervaimo, Myaski are pre-dominately kept alive by the fishing industry and naval trade. Borski and Yula on the other hand; contain many important industries and the more populated of the islands.
Economy
Revionia's economy is currently under Soviet control; in other words, under control by the working class (see politics for more information) making it a Socialist economy.
The Revionian economy has three major sectors; first and foremost is the fishing industry that operates around the Revionian island chain and draws in hundreds of thousands of tons of fish a year and is the lifeblood of Revionian commerce.
Secondly comes the ore mining and refining industry. Still in development; Revionia has only established major ore mines on the mainland; and is only has partially finished constructing many metallurgies and ore refineries to produce steel and other metals. This sector is expected to become Revionia's dominating industry once it is developed.
Revionia has a agriculture sector among the peasents of the mainland that brings in the staple of Revionian diet; wheat and potatoes. Also; a budding automobile industry has been witnessed developing among the industrial sectors of Revionian cities.
Politics
Currently; Revionia is extremely unstable.
In the April Revolution on April 1st; the monarchy was toppled by an alliance of the workers' Soviets headed by the Revionian Revolutionary Workers' Party (RRW) and the Revionian Democractic Alliance (RDA).
Now a new Democractic Republic has been founded and is ruled by a RDA dominated parliment. Unfortunately; the political climate has not cooled down; the RRW Soviets and the RDA government are locked in a power struggle over the cities; this struggle has resulted in a dangerous standoff between the working class against the middle and Revionian elite.
Fighting between monarchist and Republican forces continues on two of the islands; Borski and Yula, still remain largely under Monarchist-Loyaltist control.
Poltical Factions Revionian Revolutionary Workers' Party (RRW) The RRW was founded 4 years before the April Revolution and in secert started organizing the working class into Soviets. On the eve of the April Revolution they negiotated an alliance with the RDA. But, now with the monarchy out, they find theirselves in a struggle to establish a proletarian state, which their former allies oppose. The RRW is extremely strong in numbers; sporting many workers' militias and control of viturally all the economy, which is now operated on Socialist economics.
Revionian Democractic Alliance (RDA) The RDA calls for the establishment of a capitalist democracy and the dissolution of the worker's Soviets. They control main elements of the military and hold a majority in the Revionian parliment. But, are almost completely powerless on the streets.
