Ricky Ezis: A Rainy Day that shaped a SuperStar

The Collapse of One Dream, Start of Another

Ricky Ezis was born and raised just outside of Lonngeylin, Vilita. From a very young age it was clear Ricky would end up, some how, in sports. Ricky was a Lonngeylin junior Hockey Association champion and top defensive player of they year at the ages of six, seven, eight, nine and eleven. Unfortunately, there was no teenaged hockey league in Vilita, and Ezis was left to play on the streets and parking lots. Upon the creation of the Vilitan Domestic Football/Soccer League, Ezis decided to answer a call for ten to fifteen year olds to tryout for a place in the brand new Strike Football academy just minutes from his home.

A Higher Power Intervenes

Ezis easily earned a return call after his first day of tryouts. His physical presence held over from his hockey games was enough alone to make him stand out from the other pre-teens. But Ricky's footballing career almost stopped as quickly as it had started. Ricky, who's other love, in addition to hockey, was auto racing, was scheduled to compete in his weekly racing series at the Coveside Raceway. Ricky had just moved up to the senior division after succesfully achieving championships in all the youth divisions, and had even picked up a sponsor to fund his entry fees for the season. A sluck would have it, rain forced the cancellation of the race that day, and Ricky Ezis shouwed up about fifteen minutes late to The Shultis training ground, where the Strike Academy was holding tryouts. The academy coaches did not say a word to Ezis the entire time, not even to welcome him or tell him what to do. He just fit himself into rotation, and selected sides for himself. At the end of the day, the coaches read off a list of players who would be invited back and Ezis was not one of them.

The Start of a New Futures

As he was packing up, just about ready to walk home, Ricky felt an arm on his shoulder. It was one of the academy coaches. He told Ricky that he would have been invited back, had he introduced himself so they knew who he was. Ricky then introduced himself. The coach replied, and welcomed him to Strike FC.
