River Guilder class Mine Countermeasures Vessel (click to enlarge).

New, advanced Mine Countermeasures Vessels built primarily of non-metallic materials, developed to replace a number of older designs in the role of Coastal Mine Warfare. Equipped for both Minehunting (with space for three minehunting ROC/UUVs and a towed array) and Minesweeping (with provision for variable depth and guidable sweeping and towing gear), the ships can conduct most mine warfare operations in coastal, harbour and navigable riverine areas. The ships are capable of ocean transit if necessary but drylifting over long distances of continental seas is recommended.

The armament and range of the vessels allows them to take part not just in mine warfare operations but to also function as effective coastal and riverine patrol vessels in their own right. They are also capable of more limited service in ASW, hydrographic survey, EEZ protection and even minelaying roles.
