The 9th Reformed Rolatian General Election took place on 5th April 2005, and resulted in the DSP-Liberal coalition taking a majority of 2860 and thus taking control of the government from the Conservatives. This was an election which was most interesting for the defection of several moderate Republican and Worker's MPs to the Conservatives and DSP repsectively, causing a knock-on landslide against the Worker's Party and Republicans (both parties lost around half of their seats) as well as the Conservatives (who lost even more than half). The leader of the DSP [[Joseph Edwards]] was sworn in on 1st May 2004.
