Many NS nations profess the Roman Catholic religion and loyalty to the Holy See. Unlike the real world, however, there is little unity among declared Catholics. The largest number of Catholic nations profess allegiance to Pope Leo of the Holy Vatican See while others acknowledge only the real-life Pope John Paul II. A large number of national and variant-rite churches exist. Some Catholic states belong to the Defenders of the Faith alliance. The Catholic faith as practiced in The Reich is not generally accepted as being within the Roman tradition.
