The Most Serene Republic of Rosarana is a peaceful, mountainous island nation in the region of Bookcrossing. Rosarana is a cold-climated country with beautiful countryside and many flower gardens. The national animal is the Lady Bird, which eats the symbolic aphids of warfare, preventing them from attacking the rose bushes.
The Capital City of Rosarana is Rose Bush. It is here that the Parliament sits and the leader of Rosarana, Plucky, has her residence.
History
The Most Serene Republic of Roasarna was officially formed on 9th January 2005. Before this day, the nation was a colony of Denmark - settled in about 1683. Calls for independence started in the mid-1990s and through peaceful negotiations with Denmark, was procured in early 2005. Independence Day is celebrated on the 9th of January, without fireworks, as they are all used up to celebrate New Years' Day.
Rosarana's first president was/is President Plucky. Plucky studied at the Rosaran National University in Rose Bush, the capital. She became one of the key negotiators in the independence of Rosarana. She took up the office of President on 9th January 2005.
Rosarana became a UN Member on 11 January 2005.
The Orcadia Rose
Amongst the first settlers to Rosarana from Denmark were a family named Orcadia who brought with them a rose bush. Planted in the northern part of the nation, near the township later named Orcadia, the rose grew beautifully and produced the most lovely scented light pink flowers. The plant became famous throughout the nation, with many travelling north just to see the Orcadia Rose. Other plants were propagated from the bush and grown all over Rosarana. Although the original plant died, the Orcadia Rose is still grown and highly prized.

- Plucky - The President of Rosarana. Resides in the Capital City of Rose Bush with her son, Favourable, who submitted an entry into the National Flag competition in 2005.
- Verily - International Relations Officer. Resides in Strawberry Village, at the International Embassy. She is the Chief Delegate and communicator to other nations.
- Shine - International Relations Information Technology Officer. Resides in Strawberry Village, at the International Embassy. Mainly works on NSWiki and Yahoo. Also has the authority to communicate with other nations when Verily is not available.
- Verbatim - Renowned artist living in the small coastal community of Macadamia. Notable works include a submission into the National Flag competition of 2005, a painting of the Orcadia Rose which hangs in the entrance at Parliament House, and a series of coastal landscapes which were made into an issue of postal stamps in 1984.
- Sacred - High School student who rose to fame for submitting the winning entry into the National Flag Design compeition of 2005. Her design was influenced by the nation's love of gardening.
- Evermore - Up-and-coming artist who was a finalist in the 2005 National Flag Design Competition. He owns a gallery in Strawberry Village and has a work hanging in the National Gallery in Rose Bush. Is gaining an international reputation.
- Replenish - Chief Historian working at the National Museum in Rose Bush. Was a finalist in 2005 National Flag Competition for his LadyBird design entry. Replenish is also on the Board of Preservation for the Orcadia Rose.
- Dynamic - International Ambassador sent to The Free Lands of Ysabol. He studied International Law at the National University in Rose Bush.
- Rotary - International Ambassador sent to Shanachie. He has a degree in International Relations and Linguistics from North State Univeristy in Orcadia.
- Consise - The offical Tourism Officer of Rosarana. Promotes internal and international tourism. Resides in Strawberry Village.
