The Royal Granatian News Network (RGNN) is the only National News Network in Granate. It was formed after the merger of the the three largest Regional News Networks, West-Granatian News, Northern News Granate, and Lucianus News. The result was a large News Corporation that now could receive Government Subsidaries and one that could join the Royal Granatian Group. With all of these things going for it, RGNN is poised to take the country by storm.

History

The beginnings of the RGNN begin in the year 2005 when the regional Granatian News Networks posted the lowest the numbers of viewership in 10 years. This prompted many to think that a national news Network was needed. Although most of the heads of the Networks scoffed at this idea, a few like minded business men began to meet each other Frequently. They were the heads of the three largest networks. They met regulary in Lucianus to discuss plans for a possible merger.

In 2006 the framework for the merger began to take shape. The larger two networks would have roughly 35% control of the new merged Network while the remaining 30% was left to the third member. Although this put the smaller network at a disadvantage, it allowed the Network head to proceed with his plan of renovating his Network. Sets, Cameras, Computers, and in some cases Personell were replaced. Although doing this put his network in the hole for most of 2006 year, he was confindent that with the Merger he and his Network would bounce back.

Early in 2007 the final deals were being brokered with other smaller networks. Mostly involving buyouts, so that the RGNN, as it was going to be called, could have more of an Audience. On April 20th, 2007 the Merger was signed, forming the Royal Granatian News Network. The network became "Royal" because of the government suplments and subsidaries that allowed it to run more efficiently. In early May the buyouts of many smaller networks became official. Within weeks many of the Networks stations were being Renovated to cope with the new national scale of the news.

Broadcasting

The RGNN has announced that it's Network will be broadcasting news all day throughout the year. In addition to the regular news programs, the RGNN Network will also be host to a confirmed 6 other shows dealing with Politics, Economics, and other such topics.
