Ryten is a relatively small country holding approximately 3 million people. While it is by no means a paradise, it is known as a generally nice place to live. Immigration is almost non-existant, seeing as the Lord Doubin has an extremely isolationistic policy. Ryten's establishment is a strange one. No one knew that it existed until people thinking they were traveling within their own country encountered a border guard telling them they couldn't pass into a country theid never heard of. When they went to their respective governments and asked what was going on, they found that the governments didn't know. It was then that Ryten declared itself a country officially, knowing that the Dakota Ridge region was by no means ready for a war. So they gained their independence, and are now contributing to a growing military in Dakota Ridge.
