Sag Needler Machine Gun (NMG)

Working from the same caseless premise of the SAG N.01 Needler PDW, the NMG fires rapid volleys of 2mm Tungsten-Carbide Needles at rates in excess of one hundred and twenty rounds per second. The firing system is completely electronic, and the lack of any mechanical action allows the weapon to attain these speeds. However, at these rates of fire, the heat becomes excessively dangerous, and the NMG uses a large heat pump assembly to cool the enitre quintuple-barrel assembly. with the heat pump cooling all five gatling barrels, the NMG can maintain nearly constant fire for up to two minutes before critical overheat is reached. The NMG normally feeds from a belt, or an external resevoir, and only the first round must be manually loaded. Do to the massive ammunition drain, as well as the size of the heat pump, the NMG is only seen as a crew served, mounted or vehicular machine gun.

The NMG's stream of high-penetration rounds can cut infantry to ribbons, though it has found a home as an Anti-Aircraft, Anti-Vehicular, and even a CIWS type weapon. The high volume of fire can simply cut a lightly armored vehicle in half, and can strip low flying aircraft from the sky. The main drawback to the NMG is the massive IR signature given by consistant firing, which can draw heat seeking warheads.
