SAVAK (Persian: ساواک, short for سازمان اطلاعات و امنیت کشور, transliterated as Sazeman-e Ettelaat va Amniyat-e Keshvar, or, in English, Organization for Intelligence and National Security) is a domestic security, intelligence, and secret police organization of Parthia, responsible for the maintenance of law and order, the repression of dissent, and the deterrance of espionage and subversion. SAVAK was established by the late Shah Ardeshir XI as a means of defending the shahdom against any potential internal or external threats that may arrise.

SAVAK agents are renowned for their unshakeable loyalty to the Shah, their nearly limitless capacity for hard work, high level of efficiency, and utter ruthlessness in eliminating their enemies. They are an invisible, all-pervasive force, seemingly omnipresent and omniscient, at all places at all times. No one can safely speak ill of the government or contemplate subversion without the risk of being whisked away to a prison, where intense interrogation and even death await dissidents and traitors. Entire families have seemingly vanished into thin air for the crime of betraying Parthia. SAVAK enjoys virtually unlimited power to deal with threats however it wishes, without being hampered or hindered by restrictions or rules of engagement.

Under the current Shah, Khosru III, SAVAK's size and prestige have increased exponentially. SAVAK is now a global force, present in many countries around the globe, ready and waiting to strike terror into the hearts of leftists.

Little is known of SAVAK's structure, organization, internal functions, or size. Nearly everything surrounding this elusive organization remains shrouded behind a veil of secrecy. Rumor has it that only the Shah himself completely understands SAVAK's inner workings.

SAVAK and Roach-Busterian intelligence are known to cooperate jointly on "anti-terrorism" assignments which target suspected Communist agents around the world. SAVAK is also present in Zaire, where they train agents of the National Service for Intelligence and Protection and other agencies which President Mobutu uses to harass his opponents.
