[SCAPA]44 Powergun
Purchased by the ZMSF as the standard side arm of all personnel near the dawn of its first sub light interstellar flights the venerable SCAPA 44 is a highly effective if long barrelled weapon that has been in steady use with incremental improvements in energy storage and discharge on the same basic frame for most of the history of the ZMSF. The weapon is highly reliable, quite rugged and will fire in virtually any environment. Misfires in highly conductive atmospheres have been known, however the unit since its Mk.23 has had a built in tester.
