SCAPA Man Portable Universal Matter Disintegrator

The first applied miniaturised distintegrator unit, this prototype could at 4 kilometres using its entire power cell "disintegrate" 5 kilos of a pre set element. The unit could with difficulty be set in the field for a variety of atomic weights within a narrow group unlike the GDX 200 D-Pistol or any other modern D Weapon. The original prototypes had a 75 percent chance of “misfire” or “no discharge” which even in the final version was only lowered to 25 percent, an unacceptably high ratio in the eyes of the ZMDF and SCAPA ‘s own board of directors.

The basis of all further infantry carried disintegrates, SCAPA would apply its technologies in improving the efficiency of point defence units for the ZMDF and ZMN. Later the design would fall into the hands of the Megacity One dock sector gangs and with improved power storage capacity would for decades be the mainstay heavy weapon of the Megs criminal groups.
