This page introduces the array of spacefarers and spacefaring concepts unique to Random Kingdom.

Class A (Inhabitable Major-Mission Mass Transport)

The RKSOIA Class A is the main class of RK spacefarers, and the largest so far. It contains spacefarers used on longer-duration missions such as small-scale colonization and large-crew exploration missions. It is home to the Modular subclass (Am) and Cargo-Hauling subclass (Ac).

Class A Modular (Am)

These ship designs are at least available in a modular (more than one separable section) version.

"Ark" Am1 Modular Space Transport

The "Ark" Am1 Modular Space Transport was the first spacefaring vehicle created by the Official Random Kingdom Space Project, and, as of 2080, is the project's only operative inhabitable space module. It is a four-section nuclear fission powered inhabitable (it contains oxygen and noble-gas tanks) transport-class shuttle, launched using both its own propulsion, and, if needed, specially designed one-use EPDs (extra-propulsion devices)

Statistics
  • RKSOIA Classification: Class A/M Inhabitable Modular Large-Crew Transport Module
  • Full Title: Space-Module Class Am1 "Ark" Modular Short-Range Space Transport, Mark I
  • Variants: "Ark" Ams1 (aka A1b) Single-Section (Class A/Ms Singular Variant Module)
  • Build Date: 2065
  • Homologation as of 2080: 2 (1x Am1, 1xA1b)
  • Engines: 3(+5), 1 main fission reactor, 2 optional side fission reactors (1 optional EPD for top section, 4 optional EPDs for liftoff)
  • Crew: 1 pilot, 1 co-pilot, 4 technicians.
  • Life-Support: No gravity system, minimal oxygen and noble gas circulation system, temperature regulation system, life support CPU
  • Total Dimensions (when fully assembled): 5x51x4 (5 metres width, 51 metres length (50 hull, 1 engine), 4 metres average height)
  • Cost to Manufacture: Around $15-20bn (although new material technology is dramatically reducing this)
Usage

The Am1 and A1b have both been discontinued due to obsoletion, as cheaper, specialized module concepts are becoming available.

The Am1 was usually built on demand due to high cost and demanding construction requirements, and thus only 1 has only been created. It is built in 4 separate modules (hence the designation of Modular) that can be mixed and matched. The left and right "wing" sections also contain propulsion devices.
