SSF-014

The Ship Surface Frigate 14 frigate is a warship class of the Royal Maanenic Maritime Defence Force also known as the City class. Twenty-seven of this class have been commissioned with the final vessel, RMDS Longeaton launched in August 2005. The frigates are the senior class of the frigate fleet.

The class was designed to provide strong anti-submarine warfare protection in the shipping lanes of Maanen waters. To aid it in this task the frigate carries an ASW-010 and has direct link support to maritime reconnisance aircraft of the ADF. A usual vessel is fitted with the CDART advanced missile system and ASWMIS-012 missiles.

The cost of one SSF-014 is MNP250 million . In normal peacetime operations running costs are usually around MNP15 million.
