Saan Gali War

The Saan Gali War (also known as the Saan Gali Conflict or the Gallian Rebellion) was one of the first conflicts in the greater CA and NPE war which followed, the conflict was small but the casualties were high, this was owed to the large numbers of new technology deployed on the battlefield, the conflict began with the failed Communist coup de tat on the Island which provoked the deployment of the Toopoxican Army and a response from the NPE.

The conflict lasted a matter of days and remained unresolved, the communist rebellion was put to rest in short order and the great war with the New Prussian Empire was opened.

History

The conflict itself had began in 1724 when the Saan Gali colonists openly rebelled against ownership by the Toopoxicans, preachiong a democratic and worker friendly goverment, the Toopoxican forces at this time were weakened by attrition and the rebellion was not put down leaving the Island to secede from Toopoxican control, over the next few decades more attempts were made to retake the Islands but they merely served as attempts to hinder the progress of the Islanders.

Saan Gali remained peaceful with the Toopoxicans until 1932 when the Island once more came under invasion by the Dictator Viktor Du'Font, this time the battle for control was rather short, using blitzkreig tactics the Toopoxican Elites washed across the Island and the Colonial Regiments secured the area making it Toopoxican, Rebellion continued on the island with moderate success, the guerilla tactics of the Mountaineers were slowly wearing down the numbers of the Colonial Regiments but were also promoting more forces to be deployed and for brutal tactics to be used against the Rebels.

With Toopoxia now under the rule of a Republic the Rebels moved away from the Mountains and began a campaign of political freedom through bloody violence, a series of terror attacks rang through Saan Gali which led to the August 1st Coup when the Colonial Headquarters were bombed in the late evening, fortunantly the Governer was absent from the building with a stomach bug, this attack sparked the deployment of Toopoxican Vessels to the area and the activation of several newly constructed defences along the coast.

Outbreak of War

The Toopoxican Republic quickly granted the formation of a Taskforce to deal with the Saan Gali Rebels, this taskforce was deployed to the South Eastern Coastline and carried enough soldiers and airplanes to put down some of the minor rebellions and cope with the larger ones until further reinforcements could be summoned, this was responded to by the Wanderjar Military who then deployed a Taskforce of their own, both unable to arrive until a day later.

On August 2nd the first Toopoxican forces landed via jet, a few hours later the Toopoxican Fleet made it to the Saan Gali Coast where they found the Wanderjar Fleet headed to their position, a warning was sent to the fleet asking that they avoid Toopoxican Waters, this warning was ignored and the Wanderjar fleet opened fire immediatly sinking some of the unprotected and weaker firgates of the rear group, the main fleet was able to hold out and respond using THEL's and DEW's to hold off the enemy fleet.

News flooded into the Saan Gali War Room of the deployment of two more NPE fleets from Binaria and Wagdog respectivly, the first conflict continued with the Wanderjarrians returning fire on the Toopoxican fleet which began to fall back to port under the orders of Admiral Sulief, the Wanderjar fleet remained outside of waters, possibly down to the announced arrival of the Leafanistan and Blackhelm Fleets, This was followed by the heavy bombardment of the Gallian Airfields at Villini and Slomsk by the Wagdog Fleet, much of the Air Force was saved by THEL towers and a retreat from those airfields by the Toopoxican pilots.

Wagdog and Binarian fleets then moved their respective fleets in to sink the Toopoxican Taskforce, fortunantly they were saved by the reinforcements of the Akimonad and Blackhelm Fleets who engaged the NPE fleet moving in on Saan Gali, Wanderjar moved in to protect its allies by sending a force of Fighters to shoot down CA Fighters, the Kampfers fleet then broke off to engage the Akimonad Fleet, the Akimonads managing to fight of the Kampfers using advanced laser countermeasures, the Binarians pulled out of combat with the Toopoxians in order to engage the Blackhelm fleet.
