The Sapho Orchid is a relatively recently discovered orchid known only to grow naturally in the Caucasus region of Eurasia (mostly Northern Georgia and Southern Russia). What makes the Sapho Orchid so special is not its beauty, but its root. The root of the Sapho Orchid can be ground and diluted forming what is commonly referred to as Sapho juice or simply Sapho.

Habitat

The Sapho Orchid grows only in the cold wilderness of the Caucasus region of Eurasia. This is mostly due to the special soil and nutrients found in the area. Scientists have begun to research the soil for medicinal purposes. The Soviet Union has also been experimenting with the soil for purposes in testing whether or not citizens are taking daily injections of Dystorium.

Use of Sapho

The drinking of Sapho is common in several Asian countries including the Soviet Union and Upper Xen. It is reportedly even drank by high ranking officials in both countries.

Sapho is used widely as a recreational depressant in order to reach a level of relaxation and euphoric enlightenment. They are used mostly by politicians and intellectuals due to the inability of others to purchase high-grade Sapho. The use of the narcotic can, however, cause some side-effects including paranoia.

Affects and feeling

While under the influence of Sapho, people have mild hallucinations (mostly distortion in color and direction), intense euphoria, at times sexual pleasure, and even “euphorica paralysis” (the inability to move due to the overflow of the endorphin neurotransmitter). Due to these certain feelings, the sale of Sapho is often restricted or at least heavily taxed in most nations that agree to sell the product.

Military purpose

Military - especially the Soviet military - have began experimenting with Sapho juice mostly to decide its possible weaponization; however, most success has come from melange (the term used for the soil in which the Sapho Orchid grow). Please see the melange article for more information.
