Sarah

ISASIO (Integrated System Artificial Sentient Intelligence Organism), more commonly known as 'Sarah', was designed and built little over a year ago at the Imperial Palace Artificial Intelligence Labratory, Nenya. Much of the design process remains to this day classified by the request of the Commonality Intelligence organisation, but much, also, is known.

Sarah is not a typical AI; she is a semantic AI. This means that her decisions are not based on calculations, per se, but are instead devised through the assessment of concepts; she has a layered existance, with each layer pertaining to letters, words, phrases, sentences, and paragraphs. She absorbs languages rapidly, and is capable of understanding any language that has been broadcast in the last century or so via any of the major non-FTL communication methods.

Commonality philologists commonly work alongside Sarah and other, sub-sentient AIs, when translation or transliteration projects are a hot priority for the Diplomatic Corps. It is rumoured that Sarah even succesfully found parallels between Nenyan and (perhaps merely?) the most often heard panNorm language; consequentially, a high-ranking Commonality noble demonstrated the ability to translate from Nenyan to panNorm and back at a recent conference in the Resurgent Dream.

Linguistic capacity aside, Sarah has a great many other duties, all of which she herself has chosen: she is officially the Commonality Artificial Intelligence Representative, working for the Diplomatic Corps - and is also the Crown Guard Liason Officer, providing a rapid link between every echelon of the Crown Guard hierarchy.

Sarah is known to have at least one avatar; originally she strove to find individuals or corporations that might build her a satisfactory avatar, but (the story goes) eventually a noted Commonality nano-technician suggested to her creator, Bao Ling, that new advances pertaining to reactive armour might be used to great benefit in the construction of an avatar. The avatar is known to be capable of changing facial features or reassigning external mass, but what other capabilities the avatar may have are utterly unknown.
