Scarfaces

The official founding date of Scarfaces is July 7, 2004. Since Late 2004, Scarfaces had become a influence to some in economic, political and military matters. The 'death' date for Scarfaces is March 5th, 2006, the day that the Book of the Duche was published. Shortly after, Galifornia ejected almost every nation that held a position in the government.

History

The history of Scarfaces is the story of a region that was formed by brave and freedom-loving people from many lands. The men and women who helped build Scarfaces came from almost every part of the world. They represented many different nationalities and religions. Through the months, the people and their descendants learned to live and work together, and to take pride in their region . This spirit of cooperation and pride helped make Scarfaces the huge, powerful, and wealthy region it was. Scarfaces' people survived many challenges and hardships, including dangers of the NS World, wars, social turmoil, depressions, and an evil puppet master Dictator named Galifornia.

On May 13 2005, Scarfaces was noted as being the ninth largest player-created region in NationStates, and maintained a ranking of #7 in the charts. Today, it is a desolate region with a few stragglers remaining after the all of Galifornia's puppets died off.

In late 2005 during the months of November-December, Secretary of the Empire, Sunnys(now proven to be a puppet of Galifornia), announced a new challenge to the Scarfacian public: Seven nations would be selected by Sunnys to create a new Empire Directorate. As of December 2005, the Directorates had a great start. GRM created the first region of the Empire, naming it Exortus Solaris (roughly translated as "the rising sun," an appropriate name for a new era in Scarfacian history).

On March 5th 2006, several members of the former region of the Empire, Flavian Amphiteatre, and Scarfaces collaborated on a project called "The Book of the Duche" in which they prove that Scarfaces founder and former president Galifornia created multiple accounts on NS and the invisionfree forums for the purpose of influencing public opinion by tracking the IP addresses of the accounts. The confirmed list of puppets (Based on IP address information) is as follows: The Fros, The Leones, Bixon, Corporated Russia, Sunnys, and French Legionaries. Opon reading the book and it's accusations, Galifornia closed down the Scarfaces forums and ejected over 20 of the most active nations leaving many veteran Scarfacians homeless and tryed to goad the NS mods into deleting him. The uncovering of this massive deceiving conspiracy was Sacfaces's final dying breath. All of the ejected Scarfacians migrated to the now independant Flavian Amphitheatre. Galifornia and all of his puppets have since died, putting closure to one of the biggest cons in all of Nationstates history.

Government

The government of Scarfaces may be accurately categorized as a republic or a Capitalist Empire. Though Scarfaces was a republic, it had once been called a "Rogue Region" after Former President Galiforina declared Scarfaces Rogue. Weeks later, the Senate changed the regional name from "The Rogue Region of Scarfaces" to "The Republic of Scarfaces."

The Constitution of Scarfaces limited the powers of the federal government to defense, foreign affairs, printing money, controlling trade and relations between the regions.

The Council of Ministers was a law-making institution composed of the People's Assembly and the Senate, which both met in Senate floors every week. The People's Assembly was considered the smaller power of the region, and the Senate the upper power house, but The Council of Ministers had control of both the People's Assembly and the Senate. The People's Assembly had 123 members; they were elected by the Prime Minister of the People's Assembly.

The Scarfacian Senate had 100 members called Scarfacian senators. The Senate passed laws and bills; it also had the power to impeach the president, but the Council decided if the president should be impeached or not.

The executive government was the president, who was the commander of all three military units in Scarfaces. The president signed laws into action, issued executive orders, and delcared martial law. He had few other duties, among them being the requirement to give a State of the Union address to the region from time to time. Below the President was the Vice President, who was first in the line of succession.

Next were the members of the Cabinet, and the various departments they head, including the Department of Defense, the Foreign Affairs Department, and the State Department. These departments and department heads held much regulatory and political power, and it was these departments that were used to execute the laws of the nation.

The Vice President was the Leones(Later proven to be a main puppet of Galifornia), known for his roles as Minister of Law and Order, Secretary of Defense, and Prime Minister of The People's Assembly.

The region is allied with Global Right Alliance, Galts Gulch, Great Britain and Ireland, and Sangria Sands. At the end of November 2005, President Russosweden signed the Treaty of the Quadruplex Alliance, strengthening the alliance between the four regions.
