Also known as Seattle Syndicated News (SSN20) and later SeattleCorp Broadcasting (SBC), SeattleNews was founded in late December 2003/early January 2004, and was active through the beginning of summer 2004. Its editor and most active reporter was known as Rigel Kent, who allegedly was driven by the "awful, awful reporting" of NetWorkRadio reporter Twinkles to launch the venture, originally billed as an "alternative to NetWorkRadio." The format of the new SeattleNews was still very similar to NetWorkRadio: a proboards message board, with a forum each for news stories, reporter's lounge, viewer thoughts, and a tipline.

Despite an early splash in the world and recieving acclaim for in-depth reporting on a crisis in the region LUE, SeattleNews soon fell inactivity for nearly a month. Known as SSN20 then, it was soon "sold" to the "evil SeattleCorp conglomerate" and reorganized itself as SeattleCorp Broadcasting (SBC), this time on its own website.

This was a groundbreaking event for newscasting in Nationstates because up until this time the news was reported much like "radio" (a standard set by NWR), with blocks of text on a message board describing the news. SeattleNews incorporated the heavy use of pictures (making SBC what Rigel Kent described as a "TV station"), and a smooth-feeling layout.

Although articles (called "broadcasts") would appear less often than in NetWorkRadio, SeattleNews stories tended to be longer and more in-depth than their competitor, and included an at times irreverent sense of humor early NWR had but was seen as lacking in its later form.

Eventually SeattleNews became once again inactive (this was often blamed on technical problems from the website, a clear advantage to the "simpler" formats of news outlets like NWR), but launched itself around early May of 2004 for its "Season 2". However, Season 2 was short lived and SeattleNews stopped reporting in July 2004.
