The Second Empire of the Golden Throne is a massive, safe nation, notable for its compulsory military service. Its hard-nosed, hard-working, cynical population of 5.358 billion are ruled by a mostly-benevolent dictator, who grants the populace the freedom to live their own lives but watches carefully for anyone to slip up. It is difficult to tell where the omnipresent, corrupt government stops and the rest of society begins, but it is mainly concerned with Defence, although Law & Order and Commerce are secondary priorities. The average income tax rate is 100%. A powerhouse of a private sector is led by the Uranium Mining industry, followed by Automobile Manufacturing and Arms Manufacturing. Graffiti graces every city's streets, torture is commonly used to extract information from suspected criminals, protesters are up in arms over new nuclear power stations, and the country's famous rainforests are being bulldozed by the mining industry. Crime is totally unknown, thanks to the all-pervasive police force and progressive social policies in education and welfare. Second Empire of the Golden Throne's national animal is the Imperial Eagle, which is also the nation's favorite main course, and its currency is the Reichmark.

The Empire is also an economic and cultural powerhouse, while its military is no pushover. Although the Empire does spend most of its economical power manufacturing, making it the single largest manufacturing base in the region of Imperial Armies, it is forced to import much of its food and lesser technologies, such as information technology. Regardless, the Empire remains the strongman in the region, especially after its massive victory in the War of Golden Succession against former regional powers Zarbia and SafeHaven2. In terms of diplomacy it has far reaching tendrils which have spread the influence of the state; it has only become obvious after the massive spread of Dienstadi during the final years of the First Empire and during the beginning years of the Second Empire, making it one of the most widely spoken languages in the world.

It is no doubt that the Empire will continue to be a major international player in the coming future.

Geography, Topography and Demography

The Empire is truly vast, covering deserts, forests, mountains and grasslands, and all the while, each seperate region enjoys a very personalized character. As a consequence, it would, perhaps, be best to divide the Empire into chunks, officially regarded to as provences, and thereby explain them one by one. Nevertheless, it's important to kote that the Empire remains knit by a higher force, and not by geographical or cultural unity.

Regional Map National Map

Sarcanza

[Pronouced: Saar-khan-tha, Capital" Marsa Bruth ]

Sarcanza situates itself in an area where there was a convergence of Spanish, German and indegenous influences. However, the indegenous people were never fully assimilated into either culture, consequently, politically they retain a level of wanted autonomy, and culturally, they consider themselves totally different from that of the central Empire, which consequently explains the reasons for their rebellion in the War of Golden Succession. Furthermore, the language spoken in Sarcanza, although official, is embedded with colloquial vocabulary that personalizes the language. Indeed, Marsa Bruth's name is an underscoring of indegenous roots within the language. Sarcanza is considered a panhandle, as it juts out right over Zarbia. Subsequently, the are is a hot spot, as it's deemed volatile in nature due to Sarcanzan independence groups, and because of constant Zarbian threats to retake what they consider theirs. There have been no political overtures to deal with Sarcanza to date, and neither Jonach I or Fedor I have been willing to begin, especially after the Empire's victory in the War of Golden Succession.

Geographically, the area is a vast desert, which creeps into Sidi, and for the past two thousand years it has been expanding. Recent industrial regulations, however, have actually worked to push it back about two millimeters per annum. The desert does occupy most of northern Zarbia and all of Riptide Monzarc, and is collectively known as the Matamoscas Desert. The Matamoscas Desert is the ecological house of several CAM III plants, including Matamoscas specific plants, such as the Ortus Neguria and the Violer Deus. It's also the home of countless insects and smaller animals, including foxes and rodents. The deserts include sporadic oasis which are used to full capacity for the growth of olive trees, the major agricultural good of the provence.

<div" class="plainlinksneverexpand">gobi_desert_340.jpg

</div>

The largest city is Marsa Bruth accounting for six million occupants, and sprawling over ten square kilometers. The second largest city is Prokhorovka, with two million occupants. The rest of the provence is relatively unpopulated, except for the huge olive grove farms, sometimes exceeding eighty thousand workers each. There are certain nomadic tribes that perpetuate themselves from Riptide Monzarc, but they cause relatively little trouble. The provence ends to the west through five small rivers, and one very large river, the River Ares, that makes up the border between Sarcanza and Sidi.

Sidi

[Pronounced: Sid-ee; Capital: Sidi Rezegh ]

The capital city of over thirty million residents sits on the borders of the Matamoscas Desert and the grasslands which form the Submatamoscas. Indeed, if one was to leave the city towards the east, he/she would hit the beginnings of a desert, whith some grass and trees, but soon turning into mostly sand dunes. If that same person was to turn and leave towards the west, he/she would hit a vast flatland, with rolling grassland. Indeed, during the Great Civil War the city, founded in 306 B.C., Julian Calendar, was called the Gateway to Hell by the soldiers of King Atmos III, and ha forever remained with that nickname.

Within the context of demographics, the provence houses about eleven percent of the Empire's population, three hundred and forty million of which live in three major cities and a myriad of minor cities, including Sidi Rezegh, Magrat and Segovia. The rest reside in towns and villages. Agriculturally, the principle products are wheat, barely, olives and grapes. Indeed, while the very best of the Empire's olive oil comes from Sarcanza, where the limits have forced agriculturist to find the very best methods of fermentation, that produced in Sidi is the second best, with one of the best brands being Zapatero Extra Virgin Oilive Oil. The provence is also the site of all major breweries, meaning barley from Talavera, Castilla y Guadalajara and Ruska have to be shipped here. Breweries are so many that even the smallest town has one of its own. As for vines, the type of grape most grown is that destined to make vinigar and wine, and includes the Empire's favourite, Shiraz. Nonetheless, the principle exporter of wine from the Empire, Canforrales, bases itself off Sidi, with minor plants in Dienstad.

Dienstad

[Capita: Macabea ]

Dienstad was the Macabee Kingdom during the Great Civil War, and was the political center of the Empire until Jonach I moved the capital to his new city of Fedala, which stands as the capital to this very day. Consequently, Dienstad holds a very high idea of itself, and the aristocracy of Dienstad, or the Dienstad Nobility, think of themselves as the lifeline of the Empire. Unfortunately, about ninety percent of the Dienstand Nobility were killed in the Weigar Massacre, where contestant to the throne Prince Heinrich killed them all for the safety of his crown, which led to the War of Golden Succession. The capital city of Dienstad, Macabea, is a massive megapolis of over seventy million soulds, all stacked in flats in buildings over thirty plants tall. Most of the construction was done during the early and mid 19th century, as a consequence, the city city takes a very neo-classical look, with plazas and squares decorated with ancient gods and godesses on chariots and the like, and buildings built in Gothic and Neo-classical archetecture. Mandalay, the second largest city of the Empire, houses twelve million citizens, over an area of six square kilometers.

The provence's main source of income is her massive industrial polygons, including the main Kriegzimmer factories, which spill out much of the Empire's and her allies' martial equipment. There is also huge car manufacturing plants, including Soleden, a very high class luxury car company, which specializes in the cars for foreign governments and such. There is also a huge furniture industy in Dienstad, but Kriegzimmer is the principle complex there, as well as the massive gas and electric companies, for now owned by Dietrich Harbinger, owner of Kriegzimmer. Dienstad also has a large agricultural sector that bases itself off fruits. Indeed, the coastline of the provence is laden with orchards upon orchards of trees carrying apples, oranges, mandarins, et etcetera. Dienstad is the largest exporter of fruits in the region. The Concordat Peninsula, which forms the northern part of Dienstad, is spined by the Faragut Mountains, some of them rising past eleven thousand meters, including the tallest, Farathar, hitting an altitude of fourteen thousand six hundred and eighty meters, spiralling thousands of meters past the height of Everest. This gives massive climatic changes between Western Dienstad, where most of the agricultural sector is, and Eastern Dienstad which is mostly industrialized. It is to say, it rains more in the west, and since the clouds stick within the mountains, or are blocked, the east is more arid, although not specifically a desert. However, because of such heavy industrialization, there is worries that the Matamoscas Desert will expand into northern Dienstand, and from there engulf the entire north-eastern part of the Empire, although most professional dismiss that as pure fantasy.

Weigar

[Pronounced: Vi-gaar; Capital: Weigar (City) ]

Weigar currently holds nine percent of the Empire's population, twenty million of which used to live in the capital city of Weigar City, until said city was destroyed in the War of Golden Succession, while the rest live in the rolling hills of the provence, and especially on the northern banks of the Nestor River. There are three major cities, including the capital, of which all are over three million in the number of residents living within it. However, the great deal of the citizens of Weigar live in small, or sometimes rather large, towns, and small cities, dotting the provence. The population itself has a lot of character, and prefers to be thought of relatively autonomous from the Empire, although the crushing of Weigar's rebellion during the War of Golden Succession, but down any dreams of relatively sovereignty, or even absolute autonomy. Geographically, Weigar is composed of rolling hills throughout the provence, however, these rolling hills turn into incredibly tall mountains southeast of the River Nestor, providing very good natural defenses from that area. The rolling hills, and even the mountains, are used to grow orchads of either olive trees, apple trees or orange trees, making Weigar the center of fruits and vegetables south of Dienstand, rivaling even Targul Frumos in the amount of fruit grown anually. To the northeast there is a single mountain, named Mons Dei, which strangely is as big as some of the biggest groups of mountains in the Tuernament Mountain Range southeast of the River Nestor. Mons Dei has recently been made infamous since it was the center of one of the early battles, and relatively crucial battles, of the War of Golde Succession. To the northwest, as well, there is one of the largest forests in the Empire, called the Tukarov Black Forest, home of many unknown animals, including dozens of unnamed rodents and such; much like Mons Dei, Tukarov is considered mystical in some way, shape, or form. Apart from fruit, Weigar deducts much of its wealth from its salt water fishing industry off its coast, and from trade from foreign countries. Within the region, Weigar's fish is infamous for its richness, and even abroad cooks order it special for their dinners. If it wasn't for war, perhaps Weigar would be one of the more pleasant provences within the Empire.

Talavera

[Capital: Arras ]

Talavera is an island just north-west of Dienstad, and is the home of the largest military training base in the Empire, and in fact that training area for the Waffen-SS, the Empire's foreign military service. Being an island it has an ample fishing sector, although most of its money comes from the series of air bases and ground bases there, although it still does not have a shipping dock to use. Nonetheless, the wide array of armed forces there provide a lot of money to the community in the shape of purchases of food, clothing, and then the entertainment industry. Indeed, adult entertainment is huge in Talevera, as well as standard entertainment, such as the movies. The island also has a huge agricultural sector, including vineyards, olive orchids, barley, potatoes, and much, much more. The island is also one of the largest tourist attractions within the Empire, with its large coastal tourist resorts. It attracts a reputed thirty million tourists a year, alone, and that doesn't account for those who land elsewhere, and then get their own way to the island. These tourist add life to the reputed two million people who live in Arras, and the rest of the island which only contains one percent of the Empire's total population.

Faracat

[Capital: Beda Fromm ]

Faracat resembles Weigar in how its topography is designed. Indeed, it's a series of rolling hills, with a mountain range in the north, providing it with fresh spring water, and acting as the source of dozens of rivers which run through the provence. Many people compare Faracat to the topography of Quarter Bras and Waterloo during the 100 Days. The comparison can be made, the only difference would be that Faracat as a whole is much more unique than the Waterloo battlefield. The provence's economy is based off the same agriculture as that of Weigar, including vast types of fruit, barley and just as well, the saltwater fishing industry. It also has a huge economy based off local naval and aerial bases, including the central naval base at Beda Fromm itself. Faracat houses nine percent of the Empire's population, most of it which lives in the many cities, as there is little rural area in Faracat. Beda Fromm itself is the largest in the Empire, with eighty million occupants. The entire city is made of high rises, some of which go past one hundred floors. It's also the "tallest" city in the world, with buildings over six hundred meters in length. Along the coastline, it has some of the best beach resorts, right after Talavera.

Castilla y Guadalajara

[Capital: Targul Frumos ]

The terrain of Faracat rolls into Castilla y Guadalajara, and again, the topography is mostly rolling hills, imitating that of central Belgium. However, there are two key regions that this is not true, including the Fortat Mountains and the Arkanon Cordillera, which are as high as nine thousand meters. The two ranges block off the wind currents that come in from the Bay of Targul Frumos and hold the periodic rain within the provence, causing nasty torrents in the mountain areas, and flash floods around them. Consequently, the areas below the mountains are scantly populated.

<div" class="plainlinksneverexpand">rocky_mountains_sml.jpg
Fortat Mountains
</div>

The center of the provence is composed of rolling hills, and a major river, the River Hades. The river originates from the lower mountains of the Fortat Mountains, and continues all the way until its end when it empties into the Bay of Targul Frumos. The latter is the only hotly contested sea area by SafeHaven2 and The Macabees until it's ownership was decided during the War of Golden Succession. The provence receives its capital from the air and naval bases, and from massive fishing reserves. It's also the most heavily farmed area of the Empire, hosting the largest vineyards and largest olive groves, all though all picked olives are shipped north. Furthermore, the Imperial Valley, between the two moutain ranges, is the single largest watermelon and cantaloupe cultivation areas, all done through biological means. Targul Frumos, however, has almost absolutely no heavy industry, or industry at all, reserving all of its land for agriculture, or natural reserves, and because of this, it's one of the most beautiful provences in the Empire.

Ruska

[Capital: Mosnoi Bor ]

Northern Ruska is dominated by the River Tarkus, which ends about three hundred kilometers east of the end of the Alemanni Cordillera, which reaches into the provence. This latter mountain range includes some of the tallest mountains in the Empire, some of which rise past ten thousand meters. They're also one of the most visited ski and snowboard resorts, and home to many Havenites, prior to the War of Golden Succession, and thereafter. The center of the provence is the river lowlands, dominated by the River Styx, which begins in Zarbia, passes in front of Atbarah, then to the forefront of Mosnoi Bor and finally ending some three hundred and fifty kilometers from Aurillac. Between that and the Alemanni Cordillera resides the largest forest in the Empire, the Demiansk Forest, which is the habitat of many unknown species of animals and insects. Topographically, other than the geographic areas described above, the rest of the provence is one grassy plain, which was perhaps one of the biggest attractions to Havenite armies during the War of Golden Succession. Demographically, Ruska holds three percent of the Empire's population, most of it within the big cities, or coastal or alluvial towns and such. The population is incredibly Spanish in culture, most likely stemming from early movements of Spanish colonist from the SafeHaven2 area, and thus, the population there is very Spanish in its ways, including the variations of the Dienstadi language, although the language already takes heavy influence from Spanish, as it does from German, and other indegenous languages.

Imperial Provence

[Capital: Fedala ] The Imperial Provence is bordered by two rivers, the River Tarkus in the south, and the River Nestor to the north, and has a moutain range at the bottom border, the Alemanni Cordillera. It has also has the largest lake in the Empire, Lake Tiara. All of this sorrounds four major cities Fedala, Choybalsan, Dzamiin and Aksha. Whatever isn't dominated by the huge physical features is made up of a rolling grassland, which is some of the most heavily industrialized areas of the Empire, save Dienstad.

<div" class="plainlinksneverexpand">Lfactory.jpg
Industrialization
</div>

The provence in general holds a seven percent of the Empire's total population, and it is growing as more and more people flock to the realm of the Golden Throne. It is also an attraction to royal families abroad. As the nexus of the Golden Throne it's also one of the most expensive pieces of royal estate known to man, and the cheapest flat in Fedala could cost anywhere near eight hundred thousand Reichmarks, and that's only one hundred square meters.

Cratia

Cratia is an official territory of the Empire, annexed during the War of the Fugue Straits, between Little India, The Kraven Corporation', and The Macabees. It's composed of three islands, bordering an island owned by Little India, and others by Van Luxemburg. All three islands are geographically composed of rainforests, and are totally unpopulated.

The only population is composed of a mechanized brigade located on the largest island of the three, and a twelve strip airfield and a small naval base.

The Economy

The Empire considers itself an Absolute Capitalism, including not a single set of restrictions on business, and a ready exploitation of the workers. The capitalist market was introduced in 1822 by Emperor Constantive IV, who begun a series of reforms to liberalize the Old Empire. However, his grandson, Emperor Ornelius XII, saw the fall of the Old Empire in 1901, ending the era of government controlled capitalism. The Grand Civil War (1901-2005) witnessed the rise of industry, including and most apparent the military armaments industry, such as the then miniature Kriegzimmer submunitions. Because of the generally desperate attitude of the kingdoms that grew up from the fractured Empire, businesses were generally not handicapped by governments and they were allowed to grow and excel, seeding pure capitalism.

The best example of a child of these policies was Kriegzimmer, which was founded in 1878 as a submunitions company. When war broke out it began to solely supply the Macabee Kingdom, in modern day Dienstad, and because of this Kriegzimmer became a favoured company and consequently it was allowed to gobble up smaller, and even larger, companies. This led to rapid monopolization of the armament industries within Dienstad by 1937, and as each kingdom fell, and the armament industries of those kingdoms declined, Kriegzimmer forced them into their conglomerate as well. By 2006, a year after the end of the Great Civil War Kriegzimmer had monpolized the armament industry, and Emperor Jonach I refused to do anything about it.

The Kriegzimmer Conglomerate

The Kriegzimmer Conglomerate formed after the re-unification of the Empire under General Jonatan Catalan, a resident officer within the Macabee army during the Great Civil War. His accension as Emperor of the Golden Throne, after his overthrow of the Macabee kings, caused the final surrender of Weigar, and the past said re-union of the Golden Throne, into the Second Empire.

Kriegzimmer, as a corporation, was the principle supplier to the Macabee army, and after the unification of the Empire, Kriegzimmer began to gobble up the companies and corporations of gobbled up kingdoms, which had before been vying for business within a fractured Empire, turned into quibbling kingdoms, during the Great Civil War. When the Macabee Kingdom began to re-unify the area the companies began to weaken, and consequently, were merged forcefully into Kriegzimmer, which provided them less than equal business rights.

Within two years Kriegzimmer forged the Kriegzimmer Conglomerate. Every single armaments corporation within the Empire is technically owned by Kriegzimmer, and consequently, every single export in the form of a weapon is branded with Kriegzimmer's name, including aircraft produced by Luftkrieg, which found mild success before the massive international success of Kriegzimmer in general.

However, the Catalan Dynasty is always proud of the fact that it protects the blue collar workers of the Empire, although this is through exercising corporate strings of its own, including threatening to gobble up other institutions through privately owned businesses of officials within the administration. However, in essence, the economy of the Empire is extremely liberal in the form that it only accepts trade without barriers with foreign companies, and that business have absolutely no restrictions on what they do. Nonetheless, it isn't correct to assume that the government protects its citizens one hundred percent.

There are certain elements within the government, such as the Imperial Intelligence for National Security Agency, or the Kaiserliche Intelligenz für nationalen Sicherheitsdienst, that despise the growing corporatism of the Empire, and are actively persuing counter-business economic operations, such as the IINSA's operations within Guffingford during infiltrations by the Order of the Invisible Hand. Unfortunately, there are growing reactionaries, including the Knights of Pir-Sar that are working for the greater exploitation of the worker and to own all capital within host nations. The ongoing private wars between reactionaries and progressives may last the rest of the lifeline of the Empire.

Agriculture

Agriculture is most likely the second largest economical factor within the Empire, after her industry and exports. The most abundant agricultural product is the grape, most of which is directed towards the production of wine. The most famous wine exporter in the Empire is Canforrales. The most purchased wine abroad is the Empire's Shiraz, which gives off one of the strongest tastes, and is excellent for dinners. For white wine, the most purchased in tenebrillo, which gives off a light taste. Other types include: Bacchus [fruty flavor], Gamay Noir, Gewurztraminer, Ortega, Pinot Auxerrois, Pinot Gris, Pinot Noir and Tempranillo. It's fine to assume that wine is one of the Empire's agricultural forte's, and that it's the largest wine producer in the region, and one of the largest wine producers in the world. Indeed, three hundred and forty hectolitres of wine are exported annually abroad, while sixty eight hectolitres more are consumed at home.

The second largest product falls to the Olive, which is grown throughout the Empire. However, bottling of olives falls in Fedala exlusively, while the crushing of the Olive for the oil is exlusive to Sarcanza, which produces around one hundred and twenty metric tonnes annually of olive oil. Indeed, just like wine, the Empire is one of the largest exporters of olive oil in the world. Indeed, one can find the Extra Virgin Olive Oil of the Golden Throne in countries as close as Hailandkill and Guffingford to as far as Anagonia.

Smaller agricultural products include barley, and most towns and cities have either one, or a multitude, of breweries, for extremely reknown beers, such as Mahou Cinco Estrellas, which can be found abroad, including in Hailandkill and as far as Tadjikistan, and a series of beans, including garbanzo beans and green beans. About five percent of the country's population is agrarian, while three percent of Spain's population is agrarian, and less than two percent of the United State's population is agrarian, meaning the Empire has a comparatively large agrarian sector, which underscores the importance of agriculture within the Empire.

The agricultural sector also has a lot of protection around it, including the subsidization of pine tree agriculturalist, since it aids in the ecology. Also, a farmer can apply for the subsidization of olive groves and vineyards since both are ecologically helpful, and the two largest goods produced by the agrarian sector. In fact, the agricultural sector is probably the most protected 'blue collar' industries within the Empire, although the actual sale and trade of the products produced does not face tariffs of any kind.

Heavy Industry

The single largest heavy industry in the Empire is the armament industry, followed closely by the automobile industry, which sometimes doubles into the armament industry. The entire armament industry is owned by Kriegzimmer, while the automobile industry is divided up into six main car brands including: Tango et Kartuma, Derbtag, Cocher Culturach, Seat, Alfa Romeo and Gerati, two of which [Seat and Alfa Romeo] are foreign car companies with factories in the Empire. Principle importers of Kriegzimmer are Hailandkill, Spizania, Corzia, Pushka, and McKagan, all of which have the frequent purchase discount. The four national car companies export mainly regional and do not have a huge international base, although just the fact that Imperial Armies has over thirty billion people living in it, and growing, makes the Empire's car trade a very big one.

Other large industries include uranium mining and refinement, oil production and refinement, furniture, gambling, et cetera. With absolutely no trade barriers, and low restrictions on business, the heavy industry is the single largest economic factor in the Empire, only closely followed by the agrarian sector. Most of this centers in Fedala and Dienstad.

Trade and Mercantilism

Most trade stays within the region, although there's a lot of international trade that goes from the Empire to Haven and the GPE regions, as well as smaller routes elsewhere. The largest trading partners of the Empire are Guffingford, Zarbia, SafeHaven2 amongst others, including Oceania, Doomingsland and The Parthians. The Empire exports automobiles, armaments, olive oil, wine, wheat based products, petroleum as well as other products; its major imports include iron ore. Some examples are:

Nation Imported Goods
Guffingford Iron Ore, Steel, Fish
SafeHaven2 Wheat, Potatoes, Minerals
Zarbia Minerals, Hydrogen, Zinc, Titanium, Tungsten
Casari Beer
HailandKill Copper, Tin, Tungsten

Government and Politics

Since the accension of Jonach I in 2005, after the one hundred year civil war, the Second Empire of the Golden Throne has undergone a period of quasi-oppressive imperial rule under the iron fist of whoever sits on the Golden Throne. Although crowned by the people, Fedor's policies are designed more to benefit, not the people, not himself, but the success of the state, and consequently, most of everything which makes up the Second Empire is invested in the progression of the Empire. There is no constitution which guarantees the rights to any citizen of the Empire and although several groups have been pushing for one they haven't been strong enough to overthrow the ruling of the Emperors. Indeed, most have been squashed by the military and those who haven't are only certain time await from the same conclusion. Regardless, in weigar, the last state to fall to General Catalan [Jonach I] during the Great Civil War, a larger group has formed, and even begun to profess revolutionary slogans and such. However, rebellious groups in Weigar and Sarcanza were able to rebel against the rule of Fedor I, although these rebellions were put down, as were the invasions of SafeHaven2 and Malatose, which made up the War of Golden Succession.

The government has a sprawling bureaucracy to rule the massive state and its protectorates, The system also helps Fedor keep revolutionary groups in tangles, and even aids in the creation of counter-revolutionary groups. It takes much time to get anything done when going through the bureaucracy, and subsequently, the Emperor is the only man able to directly impose his word over the country - allowing the Emperor to keep an iron fist over all he rules. There is a parliament which is little more than an advisory group to the throne and has been suppressed. Most of the parliament members are revolutionary leaders who's only goal is to guide the 'Empire' into a progressive democratic megalith. Unfortunately for their sake, the throne keeps an eye on the parliament by having just that, a parliament. It is to say, by concentrating the high leaders of any revolution the throne can have easy access to them, in case of the need of neutralization, if you will.

The Nobility

The nobility is the only cast of society with the potential to stop the will of the Golden Throne. The ability was proved during the War of Golden Succession, when Heinrich was able to persuade Weigar up to arms through the use of the Dienstadi nobility, although it was consequently massacred by Prince Heinrich himself, earning him the nickname of 'the butcher'. The Dienstadi Nobility exists only amongst secluded groups in the provence and they have refused to reopen themselves to the politics of the Empire and instead allot their time to the resurgency of the lordship in the provence. The most powerful nobility groups within the Empire are the Faraci and Sidián Nobilities. However, they are also the most conservative in nature and so have always been loyal to the Golden Throne. Even during the Grand Civil War, they were the first to reunite under the Golden Throne positioned in Macabea (the original throne has always been in Macabea; it was only moved by Jonach I after the war, to Fedala).

Communications

The country has a major technological sector, especially in Dienstad, and this coupled with the importation of highly advance information technology equipment makes the communication sector in the Empire extremely well developed. Most of the technology is manifested around the core of the Empire, although very few Sarcanzans received internet connections, or satellite feed for television prior to the War of Golden Succession; post-war, Fedala began to put more money into the development of the underdeveloped areas of the Empire, including Sarcanza and Cratia.

Telephone

The Empire has over two hundred million main telephone lines in use throughout the widespread Empire, most of the core of the network being in Dienstad and the Imperial Provence, which gives a teledensity of one network per twenty-six and a half persons. The country can also boast of over five billion cellular telephones being used within its borders, and over two hundred submarine telecommunication cables. There are three main fixed telephone companies; Garibal, Foristat and Vilienda. There are also only four mobile phone companies; Turoli, Instadi and Latet. In order to become a mobile phone company you must be able to provide country wide access to your lines - a law which is instated in Spain, as well.

Television

The Empire has seventy-four public broadcast channels in the mainland and thirty-six in Cratia for the military and the few civilians living there. For cable and satellite companies there are a total of six hundred and ninety-three channels to broadcast. Seventy percent of the channels broadcast in Dienstadi, while fifteen percent broadcast in English, and others in Pacitalian and other languages. There are six cable providers throughout the country and three satellite providers - the same laws apply to satellite providers as they do to mobile phone providers.

Radio

There are six hundred AM radio stations and over two thousand FM radio stations. Through satellite radio there are over four thousand stations to choose from, creating one of the widest varieties of music in Imperial Armies. There are two government subsidized radio stations which are Radiunk Publiqué and Estantient Direcet There are a total of three hundred stations on FM and satellite in Pacitalian, with a total of four hundred in English, Spanish, or German, with smaller stations in French and other languages.

Transportation

The Empire prides itself on itself on its mass transportation and freeways, with the capacity to get all five billion or more citizens of the Empire around. In fact, much of the civilian budget goes into the constant fabrication and maintenance of road networks, as well as train networks and such.

Transportation in the Cities

Every major city has a complete circuit of busses which come every fifteen minutes from 5AM to 10PM, and every forty-five minutes between 11PM and 4AM. In Fedala alone there are two thousand buses operating at any one time throughout the massive, sprawled, arcology of eighty seven million persons. Apart from that, every major city has a subterranean metro line and a surface trolley line for quick transportation between streets. In Fedala, Mandalay, Beda Fromm and Macabea all freeways, from four lanes per direction to twenty lanes per direction, are completely subterranean, offering the city a landscape free of concrete fast transporation networks, making it extremely beautiful for her size. In short, mass transportation is held as first priority in the cities to cope with the massive amounts of citizens living in the arcologies and megalopolis' throughout the Empire.

Inter-Provencial and Intra-Provencial Transportation

Most of the road use within provences is on the long two lane highways that link small towns and even major provencial cities. Intra-provencial transportation normally occurs on larger eight lane and more freeways that link major cities and smaller highways. There is also a wide railroad network, both convention and maglev; the latter of which is known as Altech Veloc Macabíen. Industries have relied mostly on the conventional, heavy weight railroad networks as opposed to trucking since railroads have proven to be faster, and with their widespread use, cheaper as well. That means that much of the expected truck traffic really doesn't exist in the Empire, although some industries also use trucks as supplimentary transportation option.

The high speed train, AVM as it is known as in short, links Macabea, Mandalay, Beda Fromm, Fedala, Targul Frumos and Mosnoi Bor together, with expected plans to build a line to Marsa Bruth as a reconstruction effort in that area. The train is capable of moving at four hundred kilometers per hour, powered by a series of fission reactors throughout the Empire (the country's principle source of energy, as well as minor fusion reactors - a growing source). There are six hundred AVM trains running at any one time, and more are expected to be manufactured after the expansion of the AVM program to smaller cities and even small towns, totally replacing older conventional tracks for civilian transportation.

The Military

The Empire's military is, perhaps, its one true don. It is commanded overall by whoever sits on the Golden Throne, who according to its own loas, is the Feld Marischall. However, most of the work sits upon the shoulders of the Supreme General Staff. This is divided into several other staffs, including the Commandeich de Ejermacht [army], Commandeich de Kriermada [navy] and Commandeich de Laerihans [air force]. All of them rely on a bureaucracy of generals, most of them talented officers. However, one could not claim that the generals breeded by the State are geniuses within themselves - it could only be claimed that the General Staff and the training programs of the General Staff breed a class of general officers who are able to shine. Several historians have tried to pin the success of the Catalan Dynasty's 'New Army' on a single ting, and if one was to ask one could probably attribute the success to the General Staff's flexibility when it comes to command. It is to say, it's enjoyed that field generals actively pursue to correct the orders of higher aboe and that they act on impetus, instead of following crude orders, especially when they are outdated. Ergo, it can be said that the generals are trained to act on their instict, as well as counter-weight it orders from high above. This leads to much better field operations.

However, once could not attribute the success of the military to just that. It would more lkely be the tangle of awsome communication systems, well trained junior and general officers, and the stern discipline of NCOs and non-officers. All of this turns into raw power, as all the enemies of the Second Empire have found out. In fact, compared to other states the Macabee military is amongst the smallest in the world, however it is deadly effecient, and has proved itself to be so.
