Die Sendelbeck Gruppe: How to be more important than you appear to be.

Die Sendelbeck Gruppe or simply SEB is one of Erlangen-Ansbach's four silent corporate giants: It's a typical multi-concern, which operates businesses in a good deal of branches.

Its most famous subsidiary and main pillar is SEBPharm - Erlangen-Ansbach's leading manufacturer of pharmaceutic products. SEBPharm operates all over Europe, although Eiffelland companies are tough competition for them.

Another relevant branch is SEBReisen or TUI - its full name is TUI SEBReisen GmbH: This subdivision operates ferry lines and hotel resorts alike in the United Kingdom and partly in Liechtenistan and Twente as well.

SEB's "rising star" is SEBInvestment, which is designated to invest in promising foreign companies.

Administration

SEB is organised as a company with Limited Liability or Gesellschaft mit beschränkter Haftung (GmbH) according to the regulations of GmbHGesetz. The so-called "Sendelbeck Gruppe GmbH" is the top company, which owns all the subordinated firms.

90% of the shares are held by the respective head of the Sendelbeck family - the Duke of Sendelbeck. It's no personal wealth of the respective duke, but he is to look after it in his capacity as the head of the family. In his duties he is supported by various family members.

The other 10% are held by the Steger family (cf. Foreign Minister Carolin Wynne).

SEB Horch Automobile or simply Horch is SEB's automobile manufacturer: Ever since its establishment it has been competing against automobile veteran FMW, which continues to hold a strong grip of the automobile market of the United Kingdom.

On a more international level Horch is not far behind FMW when comes to exploit foreign markets: However, there hasn't been any large "clash of competition" yet, since Horch and FMW have each their "traditional markets." Horch's most recent acquisation is Audi of Hugoland.

The company has its European headquarters in the city of Leutershausen. Horch's current CEO is Dr. André Paffinger.

TUI SEBReisen

TUI SEBReisen or simply TUI is SEB's touristic department: It owns holiday resorts all over the United Kingdom and in some European countries. These resorts are the business basis, since TUI offers all kinds of journeys pertaining them. Of course, TUI has contracts with other resorts and hotels, as well.

Furthermore, it operates an own cruising ship company called Happag-Lloyd: Happag-Lloyd offers all kinds of cruising line holidays on the European seas.

TUI SEBReisen doesn't have an own carrier airline yet. There are speculations about a new founding and/or acquisation of an existing one for the sake of strengthening their own position.

SEBMusik

Dr. Martin Holzmann is the national-wide renown CEO of SEBMusik

SEBMusik is an important company of the United Kingdom's continuously prospering music business. From its headquarters in the city of Roth SEBMusik's managers always look for new musicians to be contracted.

Apart from the partly very short-lived mainstream musicians SEBMusik also looks for raising new true talents: German pop music receives a good deal of support. And that has already paid for SEBMusik as you can tell from the popular German-singing band "Wir sind Helden (=We're heroes)" or since-long-time successful Herbert Grönemeyer, who started as a promoted talented singer.

However, the company struggles against large number of pirate copies that are spread via internet.

SEBHochTief

SEBHochTief is one of the "youngest" subdivisions of SEB: It has been acquired only one year ago as Erlangen-Ansbach's leading construction company. Back then it was called HochTief AG. Due to a combination of good luck and financial cleverness the Duke of Sendelbeck managed to engineer the take-over of HochTief's majority of shares.

Prior to this acquisation SEB had already a construction company, but it could not compete with the leaders of HochTief. So SEB waited patiently for possibility to cooperate and/or take over the leader.

Today HochTief is operating construction sites all over Central Europe: It's very popular and respected among Liechten, Twentish and Lovisan constructors. Occasionally it is also awared more foreign orders, e.g. by Malat or Capitollium.

SEBInvestments

Dr. h.c. Alexander Felder is SEBI's CEO

SEBInvestments (SEBI) is definitely SEB's youngest child: It was only founded two months ago when SEB bought the rests of the bankrupt Schmidtbank. The Schmidtbank was a middle-class bank with a remarkably network of banks throughout the Duchies of Roth and Ansbach. Due to a couple of "rotten" yet unfortunately bis credits the banking house had to close down.

Luckily SEB appeared as the virtual "white knight" to save most of the jobs at the utmost joy of the state governments. SEB seeks to turn SEBInvestment into an internationally operating bank house that will finance prestige projects and/or acquire shares in promising international companies.

However, the direct banking network is not neglected, either: Instead it is slowly being expanded under the brandname "SEBank." SEBI's CEO Dr. Felder isn't the one to miss any profitable possibilities.
