Overview

• The United Socialist States of Sereyn, located in the Government region, is a massive, socially progressive nation, renowned for its barren, inhospitable landscape. Its compassionate, hard-working, intelligent population of 1.82 billion enjoy a sensible mix of personal and economic freedoms, while the political process is open and the people's right to vote held sacrosanct.

• The government -- a sprawling, bureaucracy-choked, corrupt morass -- concentrates mainly on Education, although Social Welfare and Healthcare are on the agenda. The average income tax rate is 41%. A powerhouse of a private sector is led by the Book Publishing, Arms Manufacturing, and Soda Sales industries.

• The government helps teach children how to kill a man from six paces, colleges adhere to rigid ethnic quotas for admissions, government-run screening operations remove embryos with severe genetic disorders, and smoking is banned in public areas. Crime -- especially youth-related -- is a problem. Sereyn's national animal is the penguin, which teeters on the brink of extinction due to widespread deforestation, and its currency is the Ser.

• Sereyn hosts a monthly volleyball tournament on the Government forums.

• Sereyn also participates in the sports of football and soccer.

Positions

• The ruler of Sereyn is a former Congressman of Government, and a former Foreign Affairs Minister as well.

Organizations

• Sereyn is a member of the Salt Sea Alliance (SSA) and the NMWO (New iami Waves Organization)
• Both of these organizations are groups that decided what is best for the economy in a certain area of the region. Sajlamot is near both of these areas.

Name

• The name "Sereyn" comes from the word "Serengheti", a native word for the land. "Serengheti" literally means "desert-like plain" in the native tongue.

Geography

• The nation of Sereyn is located on the south-west portion of the continent of Southern Americana in the region of Government.

• The terrain of Sereyn is mostly falt, with a few hills. The land is mainly dry and savannah-like. There is a desert and one large forest as well. Sereyn's lands touch the ocean in Government, the Salt Sea, and the Saj Mahal Sea.

History

• The nation of Sereyn was founded when the Sajland Indians met the settlers from GBUSA's lands. The men from GBUSA were already disgruntled about the government over there and decided to stay with the friendly indians. Together, the two groups built New Saj City. From there, other cities and towns were built.

• An interesting time period in Sereyn's history is the period of time when Mr. Sean II began the religion of Sajism. This religion is now wide spread in Sereyn. You can still see many temples from the beggining of this religion.

• To pluralize a word with a ' ("Shuh"), place a "q" at the end of the word. Example: Wa'esq. (Washes)

National Motto

• The motto, "Serendo Serpinten," comes from the times when Sereyn was ruled by a dctator, who abolished the Sernin language. This saying is a representation of his rule and is poking fun at him. It also serves as a good way to prove Sereyn's pride.

National Animal

• The national animal is the penguin. This changes with the leader of the nation, and the current leader, Mr. Reynolds, likes penguins. We are not sure why.

• The national currency, the Ser, comes from the nations name. The Half-Ser is also commonly used.
