Introduction

Serveria, officially the Federalist Republic of Serveria, is a arrow-shaped country which lies on the southwestern coast of South Columbria and is the longest country in the world. Since its establishment as a independent nation from France during the War of Serverian Independence in 1896, it has been under the rule of a authoritarian military council, which tries to ensure complete political and economical control over the population.

Serveria's government is different from the governments of other authoritarian states in that the government has tried not to interfere into the lives of ordinary Serverians as much as possible, except in cases that threaten its continued dominance.

Serveria has also been witness to a extraordinary amount of economic growth and rapid industrialization since the exploitation of extremely significant deposits of iron ore, coal, copper, nitrates, uranium and oil in the 1920's and 1930's, after explorations that occured in the 1900's and 1910's, which continues to the present.

Politics and Government

Government

The Government of Serveria essentially consists of the Council of Commanders and Generals, a body made up of certain military officials that are responsible for making sound decisions on the economy, the courts, the military, the laws of the country, information, security and transportation.

The Council of Commanders and Generals are further subdivided into six departments. Five of these departments are made up two military officials, one commander and one general, and an assorted number of assistants, while the fifth one is made up of the Supreme Commander and his or her many assistants.

Because of the fact that Serveria is governed by the military, no political parties and no political movements that are against the government are not legally allowed to exist and have been repressed many times during the course of their control of Serveria.

Departments of the Council of Commanders and Generals

The Department of the Supreme Commander

The Department of the Supreme Commander (DCS) is the highest department of the Council of Commanders and Generals, and is operated by the Supreme Commander, currently Gauvin Dupré. The Supreme Commander is meant to act as the main figurehead of the council, to guide it and to be the main representative of the diplomatic interests of the Federalist Republic of Serveria abroad.

The Supreme Commander is selected by the council whenever the current one has ceased to exist, has retired or has become incompacitated and is incapable to rule.

The Department of Economical Affairs

The Department of Economical Affairs (DAE) is the second highest department of the Council of Commanders and Generals, and is operated by both General Martin de Courseau and Commander Daniel Jean-Marie Lasage and their assistants. It is responsible for making economical decisions with the assistance of government-funded corporations.

They are selected from the ranks of the Militarial University of Serveria (MUS) / Université Militairé de Séveria (UMS) by the council.

The Department of Infomation, Security and Communications

The Department of Information, Security and Communications (DSIC) is the third highest department of the Council of Commanders and Generals, and is operated by both General Louis de LaPen, Commander Jean Henri and their assistants, not to mention, agents. It is responsible for the adminstration of communication operations, (such as internet connections, telepone connections and cable connections) the transmition of information to the public, and intelligence operations to protect Serveria and its government from at home and from abroad.
