The Shiva-class Destroyer is an Indian Destroyer design used by the Indian Navy. The Shiva is a nuclear-powered nuclear missile destroyer (classification as DDN or DDNG) armed with up to eight sea-launched MIRVed nuclear Trident theater ballistic missiles. While in every other aspect identical to the average Destroyer of the Allies, the Shiva's extremly versatile Tridents give the ship superior firepower in naval battles (against whole battlegroups, not single ships) and against targets on land, underwater and in the air, and the destroyer is capable of engaging all targets within its doctrine within strategic range, widely surpassing the engagement range of the conventional Destroyer while being able to deploy near-ininterceptable firepower much faster than an Aircraft Carrier. The Shiva is unique to Bharata Ganarajya, though it will be shared free of charge with all other nations in India upon request. The ship replaces the conventional allied Destroyer in the entire Indian Navy.
