Sijjiari Hubritu Gguri-Eilari was the sixth monarch of Baranxtu and the only one who never had any power de facto. His death resulted in the Baranxtuan Civil War 1876-1879.

Biography

He was born to then Crown Prince Hubri and Princess Peiara on October 25th, 1859. From his early infanthood on, his relationship with his mother was strained; her marriage to Hubri had been arranged and, in her own words, "[she] could not have been unhappier". She even stated that she sometimes despised her children.

In 1870, King Hubri died unexpectedly after a banquet in Siragge, possibly from food poisoning. Sijjiari, who was only ten years old at the time was crowned king, but as he was still underage, his mother Peiara reigned in his place.

When he turned 14, he would have officially been entitled to become the co-regent of his mother. However, Queen Peiara denied him this position, which resulted in nationwide protests.

On October 19th, 1877, Sijjiari fell sick and on October 24th, he was found dead in his chamber. The exact cause of his death remains unknown, but it is widely suggested that his mother had had him poisoned.

Following his death, Queen Peiara seized power with the support of Halani troups and dissolved the parliament forcefully. This lead to the Baranxtuan Civil War 1876-1879, from which Sijjiari's sister Harma emerged as the winner.
