Shattered Childhood

Sion (pronounced See-on) Halarno Davenport was born to Josepf and Maria Davenport on February 1st, XXXX, at Southport General Hospital. Born into the working class Davenport household, Sion was no stranger to hard-work and dedication. With four other brothers and sisters, the Davenports struggled from paycheck to paycheck. Then, tragedy struck. On Christmas Eve, XXXX, Sion's (now 17) family was killed in a tragic air crash while returning from visiting family friends in Oured. Sion, the lone Davenport survivor, was returned to Southport to an abusive foster home. After putting up with a month of this, Sion ran away, cowering into Hawren Heights, a poorer section of Southport. There he lived with runaway teens like himself, getting involved in a downward spiral of drugs, sex, and alchohol.

New Beginnings

Then, Sion found it. An old Rickenbacker bass guitar, sitting in a dumpster. After finding a old amplifier in a pawn shop, he began playing on the streets for money. One day, as he sat under a bridge playing, a black man in a bright blue suit pulled up. The man was none other than Rodney Davidson, a famous jazz singer. After hearing the self-taught Sion play his guitar, he invited Sion to play at his club, obviously impressed. At age 20, he was quite a hit with the club, and Rodney offered room and board to him. Sion gladly accepted. He lived with Rodney and the Blue Dogs, a ensmable of musical preformers, until one day, while Sion was walking down Broadstone Boulevard (a famous street similar to Time's Square), he spotted an AUNDF recruiter. He was reportedly so impressed that he signed up for an education program and earned a SCD (secondary school diploma) and a associates degree in aviation in four years before joining. Within two years of this, he had passed flight school and was assigned to the V.S.S. Eagle's Claw, a Velkyan Eagle Class aircraft carrier.

First Blood

The Eagle's Claw was assigned to the Kraven theater of operations in the Kraven War. Sion, flying with the naval fighter sqaudron Delta, one of the oldest sqaudrons in Allied Union. In the ensuing combat missions, his sqaudron suffered a 70 casualty rate, but managed to shoot down a massive number of enemy planes in the process. Sion himself earned six kills in the action as an ISF-2N pilot, and soon after the Velkyan withdrawal, he was flying again. He took part in the failed defense of Kahanistan as well, downing three Freekish fighters himself. Once Automagfreek had withdrew, he was assigned as a peacekeeper pilot in the region, destroying an unknown X-29 fighter aircraft which was attacking a Kahanistani refugee plane.

Homecoming

During his stay in Kahanistan, he met Nadia Sklenova, a Kahanistan air force Lt. Colonel. A bond of friendship was formed and Sion and his compatriots sailed back to Southport, their homeport, in pride after the completion of the peacekeeping mission. It was during this voyage home that he came into contact with a pair of unknown Amestrian intelligence officers.

Homeport

After an extended shore leave, Sion transferred to a naval air station located on an outer island near Southport, and has assumed the mantle of sqaudron leader for Delta squadron when the former leader retired due to an accident involving the test of an IF-10 Tengriy aicraft during carrier trials which seriously injured him. As of now, he has been promoted to Lieutenant Commander and now leads the newly formed NFS-391 Shorebirds, an amalgam of the previous Delta and Zulu squadrons and one of the first fighter squadrons in the Allied Union to recieve the new IF-13 Phoenix interceptor. He and his squadron were awaiting the deployment of their future carrier, the V.S.S. Vigilant Watch, after the retirement of the aged Eagle's Claw, when international incidents took a turn for the worse and they were called upon yet again.

Redeployment

Sion and the Shorebirds were on the eve of a new combat deployment in the beginning months of 20XX. The Generic Empire and her allies had occupied unclaimed territory south of Velkya's ally Aralonia, and began a massive military mobilization. The worst fears of the Northern Haven powers came true after a small cold war between the opposing power blocks. Generian divisions began a massed crossing of the border under the cover of darkness, and Allied Union naval assets in the area were compelled to respond by launching literally thousands of sorties against the invaders. The V.S.S. Vigilant Watch, on her first combat cruise, were among the first vessels to put squadrons in the air that night. Among these, NFS-391 was sent to acheive air superiority over the border. They manages to hang onto the airspace above the border long enough to allow NSAF soldiers to retreat and form defensive positions further north.
