Sivaris is the capital of Antrium and the capital of the District of Sivaris. It is one of the largest cities in Antrium and is a major center for tourism, because of its scenic location high in the mountains, and its famous skiing. It is located at the confluence of the Sivaris and Federalist Rivers. Many of Antrium's automobile manufacturing companies have headquarters in Sivaris.

History

Sivaris is a relatively new city. It was founded in 1940 as a gold mining town, originally named Gold Mountain. It was abandoned in 1946 when the miners could no longer find gold. It wasn't reinhabited until 1973, when a wealthy investor from southern American Federalist named Veraz Maralan opened a ski resort about 10 miles west of the town, which he renamed "Sivaris", or "city of rivers" in Alvésin. It soon grew with the openings of more ski resorts, and improved transportation to the area.

By the 1980's, a few major businesses moved to Sivaris. By 1990, there were over 1.4 million people living in Sivaris, and it has grown very quickly since. After the collapse of American Federalist, Prime Minister Aranti Devaléra chose the city to be the capital of Antrium, because of its central location. New administrative towers were built, and the city's growth skyrocketed to its current population of 8.5 million.

Geography

Sivaris is located in the Granvéo Mountains in Central Antrium, just west of Montjàros, or Hare Mountain, one of the tallest mountains in the country. The downtown of the city is located at the confluence of the Federalist and Sivaris rivers.
