A Recent History of Sixguns: In the years following the perfection of the technologies that ended the dependancy on finite resources, Sixguns underwent a stealth revolution and now operates under a socialist orientated open source government and economy. All laws, products, manufacturing processes and welfare programs are open for modification and improvement, subject to peer review by those with a track record in successful submissions.

A result of this system is a low income disparity across the nation with a well developed relationship between collaboration and access to resources. All citizens set the income of their fellows by accessing each others resources, this system is most easily explained in the case of artistic work, access to which is made available on the creators server at a fixed micro cost, a popular artist would acquire enough net credit to allow them to spend their time on their craft with access to rare resources without needing to hold down another conventional job, the system is carefully balanced so that super-egos with excess wealth rarely occur. In the case of more complex collaborative projects citizens receive credit according to their participation. the 'wealth' any citizen has access to is calculated in realtime by logging of the state owned communications infrastructure.

In an age where energy and products are essentially produced at no cost, time has become the restrictive element to economic production, in short while a citizen could request any legal object, only a fixed amount of products and services can be produced in a given period, the availability of products, services and direction of the economy is therefore set by those with a net loss to the system, those who give (in ideas, concepts, labour), more than they receive (in finished products and services), this provides a motivation for citizens to participate.

There are of course many citizens that don't feel the need to expend any creative energy and who subsequently roll through their lives in conditions that while enviably comfortable, most people would find monotonous, likewise there are a few estranged individuals that expend great effort on clearly hopeless projects, supported by a wide mix of citizens that find their activities fascinating, entertaining or humorous by turn, a good example of which would be Hendrix Vassel who spent his entire life building inverted pyramids over marble lakes in the San Sombras desert, after his death many of the constructions were demolished for safety reasons but three of his later designs proved to be well engineered and have since become popular tourist attractions.

There are rumours of a well developed black hat economy providing manufacture and distribution of restricted items at home and abroad through unreported access to the autofac facilities, this is of course absolute fiction spread by capitalistic elements bent on power that would see the nation returned to the bad old days of the oil Monarchies.
