The Æmpire of SlidingAlbion and Alsætia is a huge, economically powerful nation, notable for its compulsory military service. Its hard-nosed, hard-working, enslaved, broken population of 786 million are rabid consumers, partly through choice and partly because the government tells them to. Dissenters tend to vanish from their homes at night. The Æmpire is ruled with an iron fist by the corrupt, alien dictatorship government (the Blue Nobility), which oppresses anyone who isn't of the Blue or Blue-hybrid.

There is no government in the normal sense of the word; however, a small group a small group of atrocity-minded, corrupt, Fascistic Blue-blooded nobles is mainly concerned with Defence, although Law & Order and Commerce are on the agenda. A powerhouse of a private sector is led by the Information Technology, Uranium Mining, and Arms manufacturing industries.

Blue Nobility parents-to-be can select their perfect baby, the people are famous throughout the region for their bleached-white teeth due to enforced flouride treatment, homeless people are periodically found dead upon altars to assorted deities, and the government extracts trade concessions from poor nations in exchange for humanitarian aid. Crime is a problem. SlidingAlbion's national animal is the human being, which teeters on the brink of extinction due to widespread deforestation, and its currency is the PoundSliding.

Official History

In the 19th century, an Alien slaveship crash-landed in the Kingdom of SlidingAlbion. Aboard it were 25 members of Azure Caste (technicians) and 300 members of the Cobalt Caste (laborers). Their contact was overt, direct and all-consuming. The Kingdom was in the hands of the Blue within the year. They kidnapped the Princess, had her impregnated, her father and mother killed, and then placed the half-Blue infant on the throne (with an Azure Caste member as Vizier, of course.) Since that time, they have turned the kingdom into a slave stockade and a genocidal rape-camp by which to use human women to propogate their species and human men to build their machines. SlidingAlbion is a strip-mined wasteland robbed for every possible resource.

Human Chattel Slavery

The ordinary human laborer in Albion might live to see his 28th year, if he was extremely fortunate. Most died of disease and malnutrition, as all the growing land had been long since destroyed in the pursuit of raw materials for the ever-growing machines of the Blue. One tenth of the population was born underground these days, in one of the many Mining Districts; these pitiful creatures never saw the sun in their desperately short lives.

All food resources acquired through trade with the outside world were consumed, or wasted depending on their whims, by the Blue. Great banquets, orgies of gluttony with the requisite vomitoriums, were served by the most docile of the eunuch servants. If a eunuch was discovered to have helped themselves to even a morsel of their master’s repast, the penalty was exile to the Labor Camps.

In the Labor Camps, the great industrial machines of SlidingAlbion were serviced and fed by the human shadows there consigned. Daily deaths were commonplace; the production lines never stopped. Bodies were hauled away as another took their place in the unending motion of the machines. The bodies were removed to Reprocessing, where the only nutrition afforded the masses was prepared from the flesh of the dead.

Within the borders of Albion, no outlander was allowed beyond the city of Dover, trade port to the rest of the world. No one save the Blue knew the secrets of Albion’s all-consuming economy; those outlanders who violated the restrictions on travel soon learned first hand of the horrors their brothers faced at the these azure and cobalt hands. So it was; so it is.
