The TISNoBob has seen fit to join the UN after a lengthy period of indecision. This choice was not made lightly; long days of debate have taken place for almost six months in Parliament. However, Emperor Bob I declared today the the TISNoBob will join the UN, and took steps to do so immediately. Thus, the TISNoBob has become a member State of this august body. Any new member States of the UN entering this region are encouraged to support the TISNoBob as the new Delegate to the UN of the Region of Small Ineffectual Rulers, as Emperor Bob I has offered to visit mischief upon the larger powers if possible on behalf of all small nations in the world.

The Commonwealth of Viviakin today declared war on the Dominion of Bolsher. Bolsher, an ally of the TISNoBob, sent a request for military aid to Emperor Bob I under the terms of the SIR Defense Force treaty of 1999. Emperor Bob I released a statement at 1455 hours that the TISNoBob will provide military support under the minimum terms of the treaty, with the possibility of expansion should the situation escalate. Under the treaty, the TISNoBob will commit 5% of its military forces to assist Bolsher should Viviakin invade. It will also bear 2% of the cost of the defense. Emperor Bob I warned that should Bolsher invade Viviakin at any point during the conflict, all aid will be withdrawn from that point as per the terms of the treaty.

Upon the news of a formal declaration of war by the Commonwealth of Viviakin against the Dominion of Bolsher, Holy Emperor Kilgen II released a statement at 1425 hours in which he pledged maximum military support to Bolsher under the SIR Defense Force treaty of 1999. He announced that the National Army and the National Air Force have been placed on alert pending authorization for mobilization.

Under the terms of the treaty, Ta-Non-Ka can commit a maximum of 45% of the military in defense of Bolsher in the event of an invasion. It can also bear up to 15% of the cost of the defense. However, should Bolsher invade Viviakin during the war, Ta-Non-Ka is no longer obligated to provide assistance after that point.

Holy Emperor Kilgen II, in poor health for the last few weeks due to influenza, has stated unequivocal military support to Bolsher, with the implication that Nonnite military forces will take part in any possible invasion of Viviakinian territory.

The Dominion of Bolsher announced today an increase in the military draft, following intelligence revealing an increase in military movement along it's border. Supreme Minister John Deddingham, who was re-elected for his second term earlier this year, cautions the citizens to remain calm. "This is merely a precautionary measure," says Deddingham. "We are engaging in diplomatic talks, and hope to have this matter resolved soon." In the event that the problem escalates, Deddingham has stated that he will invoke the SIR Defense Force treaty established in 1996. Under the treaty, the Small Ineffectual Rulership of the TISNoBob and the Holy Empire of Ta-Non-Ka will be obliged to provide military aid to Bolsher upon request for defense purposes. In the event of Bolsher invading, the other two nations may or may not choose to withdraw their remaining aid. However, at this time, all citizens are reminded that there is no imminent threat.
