Smithanian Socialism

Smithanian Socialism is an economic system designed by the leader of The People's Federation of Smithania, Chairman Smith, and is currently being tested and developed in that nation.

Smithanianism is a concept that takes Socialism and Merchantilism and merges their best qualities into a system of Economic Democracy that keeps the Standard of Living and Equality that both sides of the scale enjoy.

Engaging in becoming a Smithanist Nation

Although it is easiest to make the conversion from Socialism to Smithanianism, the concept allows for Capitalist nations to make the switch. The conversion is best divided into a series of stages. These stages are: developing the credit system, establishing economic democracy, and eliminate discriminated wages.

The "Three" Stages

Credit System

The Credit System deals with the establishment of two currencies, one is the hard currency that is used to trade with non-smithanian nations, the hard currency is earned by a whole by the Smithanian people, the government however taxes all of it for administative use and in return citizens are given the civilian currency, Credits, to their workers, which can be used to buy low priced goods from the Smithanian stores, which are managed by the government, once used, Credits become worthless. After the hard currency is taxed, it is used by the government for imports, but not much more, thus making the nation become rich and a world power. Any internal jobs are paid with Credits to its citizens.

Economic Democracy

After the credit system is established, all privatley owned large buisnesses are broken down, and a first given control of by their management. After large enterprises and corporations are broken down into local management, then an internet based system of feedback is developed for citizens to moniter all products.

After that is in place, all buisness is nationalised, allowing its owners to keep managing, but in the end allowing the government to decide its course, the product produced is up to its manager, if the buisness continues to produce in accordence to citizen demand, it will keep running, if not it will be closed down and redesignated to another manager with another idea, competition is still encouraged, but the citizens ultimatley demand, through purchase, what keeps running.

Elimination of Wage Discrimination

Because all education is a right guranteed by the government, wages will not be determained by the occupation, but by the time and quality of the work. If a citizen works for a period of a year, his credit salary will be raised by a quantity determained by an elected council.

Quality of the product is also a factor, if a manager requests an incresed salary for an employee, then it will be looked into.

All people will earn the same salary at the start of their carrer, unless the job is potentially hazardous, then the government can see to it that the employee is granted a higher salary.

Smithanian Traits

Each Smithanian Government has several traits that will classify it as such, listed below.

• 100% Tax Rate

Remember, each citizens work pays for the nation's funding, these taxes are only in place for the gold-backed currency, or hard currency, used in international trade.

• Subsidized Industry

The Industry is run by the people, however the government owns and funds the idea made by the citizen. Every citizen with a sound idea has the right to have a funded idea, as long as it continues to demanded by the consumer.

• Universal Healthcare

Every citizens is given the right to a government funded Healthcare system, in Smithania, doctors do have an increased salary because of the precision of the job.

• Universal Education

All citizens have the right to a continued education through college, as long as the citizen is willing to learn, they will receive the right to. In Smithania, the most education a person has received, the higher his salary is when he gets a job.

• Defence and Criminal Justice

A Smithanian Nation encourages a fully operation military, capable of defending itself and allied nations, the military will treat it's soldiers with respect.

The Police will also be well funded and well armed, and the Court system will be fair to each and every defendent.
