Greetings
When two men meet one another or sit down to supper, the customary formal greeting is for the men to bow slightly to each other, resting their own forehead against the forehead of the other man.
When two women meet one another or sit down to supper, the customary formal greeting is for the women to kiss each other on both cheeks, removing their face scarf if they are wearing one.
When two male friends or familiar acquaintences meet, the customary informal greeting is for the men to grasp each others right forearms, in a gesture similar to a hadnshake.
When two female friends or familiar acquaintences meet, the customary informal greeting is similar to their formal greeting, although one will playfully pull off the other's face scarf should they be waring one.
When a man and a woman meet for the first time, the customary formal greeting is for the man to kiss the woman lightly upon her forehead.
When a man and a woman are friends or family, the customary informal greeting is for each ot kiss the other's nose and possibly both cheeks, the man at times playfully pulling off the woman's face scarf.
Court customs
Although the Premier is given no special ceremony of introduction, it is customary to give a respectful nod the head upon introduction. To meet the Prince is to make a leg, though in history is has been known for people at the mercy of the King to prostrate themselves before him. However, such prostration is far from being the norm, as it is unspoken Sicinian belief that they bow to no one but God.
Masculine Ideals
Sicinian males are raised from an early age to have several traits deemed important. These are honor, courage, and ambition. The Sicinian honor code is very strict, preaching chivalry towards women, compassion towards the downtrodden, and mercy to one's enemies.
Sicinian men are supposed to be courageous, especially in battle, and acts like desertion and cowardice are punished severely.
Ambition, the last ideal, is considered perhaps the most important. The pursuit of it most commonly takes preference over the other two, to the point that the most powerful men are not necessarily the bravest or most honorable, but the ones who worked the hardest to be in power.
