The Fodian Culture has a strict and rigid set of traditions which are always to be upheld. Most of the cultural quirks can be displayed in a conversation with a Fodian. Let's follow a conversation between two complete strangers, John and Jane, who meet at the generic party.

John, will smile, and bow his head respectfully. Then he would take Jane in his arms and kiss her as deeply as one would their true love in "America." He would take a step back, and greet her with the standard "Salve." Usually it is the woman, or the shorter of the pair, whom spits at the others feet. Usually it is the man, or the taller of the pair, whom initiates the kiss.

They nod once more, and end with the standard "Vale," ending their chat. Usually if the chat had not gone over too well, instead of kissing a slap would be exchanged. The greeting though, will always begin with a kiss.
