A small farming country of only 1 to 2 million people for many years, Sonaron has recently been revolutionized by the opening of the national borders to outside technology and trade. As a result, the nation has advanced from early Flight to late Information age virtually overnight. Founded on the principle of true democracy, Sonaron is only now developing the functions of a modern government. The defense forces are focusing most of their efforts on the Air Force, making great use of the new technology flooding in from other nations in the Elveron region.
Sonaron has participated in several World Cups, though it has yet to advance past the qualifying stage. The Sonaron Football Federation recently commissioned a domestic football league, which will commence play near World Cup 24 qualifying.
