==Introduction==

The United Sovereign Nations of Southeastasia is a huge, environmentally stunning nation, renowned for its complete lack of prisons. Its compassionate, hard-working population of 574 million have some civil rights, but not too many, enjoy the freedom to spend their money however they like, to a point, and take part in free and open elections, although not too often.

It is difficult to tell where the omnipresent government stops and the rest of society begins, but it juggles the competing demands of Education, Defence, and Social Welfare. Citizens pay a flat income tax of 88%. A large private sector is led by the Arms Manufacturing industry, followed by Automobile Manufacturing and Beef-Based Agriculture.

Artists are pillars of society, gun ownership is compulsory, the nation's youth is held blameless for all crimes, and the Southeastasia Automotive Racing Series draws millions of spectators annually while those near the tracks complain about the noise. Crime -- especially youth-related -- is moderate, probably because of the country's utter lack of prisons. Southeastasia's national animal is the dove, which is also the nation's favorite main course, and its currency is the Qian.
