Achi is a Confederal Member which shares the island of Loricatus with another Confederal Member, Quisqueya. Achi also includes a number of smaller islands just off the coast of Loricatus. Achi was the indigenous name for the entire island.

Achi is historically a part of the Empire of Nabarro Abarca. It became a Member in its own right during the period of Nabarran devolution and it became independent of any central Nabarran authority during the Confederal constitutional reforms when intergovernmental unions between Members were banned. However, the Dominion still recognized itself as part of the Empire and still recognized the Head of the Commonwealth in his capacity as the Emperor of Nabarro Abarca. However, the Dominion has not made him independently the monarch of Achi and thus, properly speaking, the head of state of Achi is the Governor.

Achi is currently undergoing a great deal of controversy over piracy and allegations of corruption. A number of pleasure craft and even commercial vessels have been robbed by pirates disguised as fishing vessels. While some of the pirates have been captured, some have said that their ability to escape is suspect and have suggested that some local politicians and law enforcement officials might be incompetent or even corrupt.
