The so-called "StarFire Crisis" was an event in the 1984, a violent explosion, which destroyed the city of San Fransisco in Aurono, leaving nothing but a big crater. Many speculations have been made concerning the nature of the detonation ranging from a asteroid impact or a nuclear detonation to Psionic powers that resulted from the Human Instrumentality Project of Aurono's neighbour nation of Hatomia. The event, being devastating in itself, caused a wider crisis, as it sparked turmoil all over Sudeki and almost sparked a World War III. San Fransisco was subsenquently rebuilt on an artificial island in the San Fransisco Bay, and became known as New San Fransisco.
