Laelia starblaydia, the Starblaydi Orchid

The Starblaydi Orchid - Laelia starblaydia - is a sub-species of the Laelia, one of a small genus of eleven species from the orchid family (Orchidaceae). It is the national flower of Starblaydia, being first discovered and found primarily in Starblaydia.

Its distinct purple colour gives rise to the colour 'Starblaydi Purple' (web colour #660099, web-safe colour 609), which is used throughout Starblaydi society in examples such as the Flag of Starblaydia and the purple colour used on the uniforms of the Starblaydia national football team, Ice Hockey team and other national representatives.
