Starblaydi uranium mining

Uranium mining has long been Starblaydia's dominant industry. Thanks to a highly concentrated deposits of uranium in provinces such as Gar-Hallad, Hecia, Giarista, Quercus and Pineus, Starblaydi companies mine and process the uranium ore for nuclear power plants, fuel for naval ships, vehicle armour, kinetic energy penetrators and, of course, nuclear weapons. The corporations, however, do take an active role in keeping the quality of Starblaydia's environment as high as possible, frequently mining only small areas of uranium deposits so as to preserve the environment around them.

Sturamco, Tek'ron and Kitetik are said to be the 'Big Three' of uranium production in Starblaydia.

Main Companies

Sturamco

Sturamco (Starblaydi uranium mining company) are the largest players in the Starblaydi market, having been in the business since it began in Starblaydia in the early twentieth century. Their base of mining operations is centred in Gar-Hallad province, an area traditionally associated with rough, tough and hard-working peoples and the hub of many and varied mining and quarrying corporations.

Sturamco largely supply processed uranium for nuclear power plants for both civilian and military applications, whether powering the homes of hundreds of millions of Starblaydi, or propelling their massive floating fortresses of naval ships through the waters of Atlantian Oceania.

Tek'ron

Tek'ron are a Nemyan company of long-standing in all forms of mining, though have found their uranium products to be their most-profitable. They conduct operations across what used to be Nemya, but is now part of Starblaydia, mainly in the Hecia and Giarista provinces. Their speciality is weapons-grade uranium, used in the stockpiles of Starblaydia's terrifying nuclear deterrent. Known for their ruthlessness, it is not surprising that Tek'ron's efforts underground are put towards the most deadly weapons of destruction ever created.

Their mining is in no way restricted to uranium, encompassing other metals found underground such as gold, silver and copper. Their main profits, and critics, come from their enriching of uranium to levels above 85%, making it suitable for terrible engines of death. Tek'ron, however, are proud of their involvement in the essential defence of the nation of Starblaydia.

Kitetik

The smallest and newest of the Big Three, Kitetik are also the fastest-growing, using high-technology and military expertise to locate, designate, explore, mine and refine uranium for use in kinetic energy penetrators (such as Sabot rounds fired from a tank's main gun), depleted uranium shells and also vehicle armour plating applications.

Formed by a group of scientists, ex-military specialists and miners, Kitetik lead the field in cutting edge technology.
