Starblaydia All-Time XI Nomination

Ever an Artist among Artisans: Big, blond and two-footed, Stefan Haldorsson ousted Aiden Matranga from the World Cup 15 Starting XI, took the Number 11 shirt and never gave it back. His accurate crossing with either foot, as well as heading and shooting were excellent. His free-kicks were awesome and he ran the show from whichever part of the pitch he was standing in.

His last goal for Starblaydia came, fittingly, in the World Cup 17 Finals match against 9th-ranked NEWI Cefn Druids (Starblaydia were ranked around 46th in the world at the time) where Simeone Di Bradini, Haldorsson and Ki-Jana Carter scored in a 3-0 demolition that took Starblaydia all the Quarter-Finals against Melmond.

The family line continued with Heider Stefansson, a strong-willed centre-back precisely in the mould of his father, though unable to live up to the family tradition of excellence, despite playing for the defending world champions at the time.
